Yes contract killing is accepted in the game, but making others quit should not be acceptable. I figured CCP would put an end to it as that hits their bottom line. Never ever forget that is what this game is all about, making money for the company which owns the game. If you think otherwise you'd be wrong.

I see what this James fellow is doing. It is sad that others allow him to impose his will so freely. I will be on the look out so that I can engage him and his cronies and have a bit of fun.

So James heres a question. I invested in you're OP. Now people from you're group have come to my system, asked me to pay a mining liscense, accused me of scamming and all around have been incredibly rude. Do you take any actions or is extortion completely ok with you guys?

Screenshots to follow:
First thing that sparked my attention:
http://s20.postimage.org/eevl83f0t/Screen_shot_2013_02_06_at_8_46_35_AM.png
Nice to see an employee of something I supported with ISK from mining in my venture for hours and hours calling me lowest on the totem pole...but ok thats not a big deal.

And from here the conversation deteriorated...heres the chat:

They may be a bit out of order but I was attempting to reason with the "Agent" or whatever. And input into these actions would be greatly appreciated James. As I stated above I support this venture and hate to see it tarnished by being rude to the people who support you. I know I am putting a big target on my head for speaking up about this, especially as a super new player to Eve (almost at my 1 month) but I feel strongly about this.
-Sin

EDIT: Also I would like to see some sort of deal if having invested I don't have to purchase a mining license. Otherwise could I have 20million isk back so I can mine and not have to fight in public with one of you're rogue agents?

These may as well be farts in the wind but I have had a few beers since the start of this thread.

I understand that Jerry but what I want to know is how am I supposed to support a "healthy" pvp or mission habit when I am still plinking around in my mining ship and level 1 missions are incredibly boring? I am incredibly new to the game and want more than anything to get out there and start pew pewing but I would like a decent financial backing so that when I loose my first big ship I don't have to wait 3 weeks to buy another one.

Edit: Yes I did buy some GTC's with the money I got from selling my books back to school...but alas the isk is invested in OP's (including this one) and school has started again and junior year in Engineering school is incredibly expensive.

Edit 2: And yea can't wait for the post in C&P...but I have already been assured by the lovely "agent" that I won't be getting a writeup =(

These may as well be farts in the wind but I have had a few beers since the start of this thread.

you have hit the skill queue hurdle that everyone new & honest faces, don't worry we have all been there, i know you are new, i apologize for making fun. i dont want anyone to get this upset if its there first time around the block. i can see you have soaked up alot of information through the forums, when i started, i used to browse sell orders and think how did they get the isk for that?? in wonder.

you have plex cards there, i assume you bought isk from the site (hey idc none of my business, dont cry poor though, you have RL money thats fine also)

buy a new character from the character bazaar, and specialize your character into something you enjoy. when i first played, the thought of running 2 accounts, seemed daunting. but trust me it pays off. your more experienced pilot can join corps that are further progressed that you main, and then you can see new content, like claire coffee has a c5 wormhole or others have super caps and what not.

if you are mining for minerals to make things, like ammo and stuff, just put in buy orders at jita, all prod costs are based of the mineral prices anyway.

try production out with Sin, buying minerals and making things, then u don;t need mining. some tech 2 items can be invented for decent profit.

when you have the 2 accounts, and specialize them, it gives you more to do with your time, feel less frustrated and helpless

but yeh mining, just skip that for now, this movement seems to have won over eve

see you in the crosshairs.

Thanks for the advice Jerry. I have an alt account that I have been training for some mission running and have been trying my hand at production on Sin...only like 2 days until industry V! I just figured while I wait for some skills to actually be able to pilot something decently I would mine to make some isk >< But oh well *cheers* to the target on my head now :)

Hi there SinTeryx. While I am, regrettably, not James (although certain people would have you believe otherwise), I have been an Agent of the New Order for some time now and I feel that I am ideally placed to answer your questions.

The first thing that I notice is that you expected that the purchase of shares is equivalent to the purchase of a mining permit. Unfortunately, it is not. The purchase of shares grants you a voice in Shareholder votes, while the purchase of a mining permit grants you the right to mine unmolested in highsec. Expecting to get both in one purchase would be overpowered. I'm certain, however, that if you were to send an EVEMail to James 315 stating that you would like to refund 10 of your shares and purchase a mining permit with the resulting funds, the issue would be rectified. Our Saviour is nothing if not understanding.

The second thing I notice is that your screenshots are a little bit unclear - they're not in the right order, for a start, and some of them seem to cover things that are unrelated to the case or cover the same things twice or three times. While I think I have the gist of the events this time, in future you can find your chatlogs at Documents/EVE/logs/chatlogs/, and the file will be called 'Local_[number]_[number].txt. If you use the 'Search' function in Windows from within that folder, you can generally find a file from a piece of chat - in this case you could find the relevant Local log by searching for 'We support the demise of those who afk mine'. Copying and pasting the contents of that log is generally a lot more user-friendly than posting images - it's easier, too.

Next, I understand that Agent Stanislav called you out in Local for not having a mining permit. He was right; you need to reinvest some of your shares into a permit.

Agent Stanislav then accused you of being in violation of the Code. Of course, you didn't have a permit, but Stanislav seems to have accepted your status as Shareholder in lieu of that. Therefore you must have been doing something else. The logs don't show it, but perhaps you showed disrespect towards the Father of the New Order, or towards the Code itself or the New Order? If so, then that is a clear violation of the Code. The other possibility is that you were AFK mining. As you know, a mining permit does not allow you to break the Code, and AFK mining is one of the most severe infractions against the Code that there is. Perhaps you could elaborate as to how you were breaking the Code?

You mention in the fifth (by my understanding of the correct order) screenshot that you 'asked a legitimate question', but I don't see it recorded in your pictures. Perhaps you should ask it again here, that I might answer it more satisfactorily than Agent Stanislav.

Finally, in the third screenshot, Stanislav says 'I grow weary of your fraud attempts'. presumably this means taht you had spoken before, but it isn't shown. Perhaps you could tell us what happened there?

So just copying and pasting from the in-game chats since I am having trouble finding the logs (I am using a mac) and for some reason can't find the file =/ I will keep searching though. He said that I disrespected him, and as I meant no disrespect but wanted to defend myself I feel that I have done nothing wrong.

As to the shares being converted into a mining license, I guess I can contact him but I may just move along and drop my mining business for a while. Seeing as it is the same amount of isk either way I feel the I would rather have a say in what is going on rather than being able to "legally mine in high-sec".

http://www.scribd.com/doc/124157322/ChatLog

Edit: Sorry about the screenshots I was doing my best whilst listening to my teacher =X

Edit 2: I had spoken before just from my alt account. I had just logged both in and saw something about The New Order in system. So I started reading chat and this entire ordeal began. I then switched over from Jaytoo to Sin and started talking because I figured as an investor I would hold a little more weight and maybe be taken seriously. I honestly meant no disrespect but as a new player and someone who attempts to be an upstanding person I felt threatened and wanted to defend myself.

These may as well be farts in the wind but I have had a few beers since the start of this thread.

This wiki page details how to find logs on Mac OS X. Hopefully that's helpful.

As for dropping the mining business; great idea! In fact, the New Order offers a quick-start PVP program where we get you into a Catalyst and shooting Mackinaws in under a day of skill training! Have you ever felt resentment for those huge mackinaws and hulks that just idle in belts all day harvesting ore while you labour in your tiny Venture? Now's the chance to get your revenge! And Agents are much more fun to talk to than miners.

Having read the entire chatlog, I'd say that you mostly acted correctly. Unfortunately you were mistaken that Shareholders are automatically Permit Holders, so the Agents were right in that regard. It would also be best to remain polite in general; while the Agents may have been overstating your rudeness, you did lose your calm a little.

Heh yea I tried that wiki pages but for some reason my searches keep coming up blank.

I did loose my calm...but only after being called a liar and a scammer. I wasn't mistaken I just asked if they were considered part of the mining license...I just wanted clarification. Thank you for the response, however this whole experience has left me with a bad taste.
