With all the recent changes it's kinda hard to determine what will be the best setup for hisec to mine and was wondering if anyone would help me with this issue

There is a fitting suggestion on the EVELopddia page: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Orca#High_Sec

This will require a little explaining, but read through.

[Orca, Mining Booster]
Mining Foreman Link - Laser Optimization II
Mining Foreman Link - Harvester Capacitor Efficiency II
Mining Foreman Link - Mining Laser Field Enhancement II

Survey Scanner II
Sensor Booster II (Scan Resolution Script)
Imperial Navy Medium Capacitor Booster (Navy Cap Booster 800)
Prototype 100MN Microwarpdrive I

Damage Control II
Reinforced Bulkheads II

Large Ancillary Current Router II
2x Large Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer II

Drones, drones, drones

So when you try to put the MWD on in station you will get messages ‘not enough powergrid’ (well not exactly but something like that.) ignore it for now.

The tank is the reinforced bulkheads and the Damage Control, total EHP 225k: there are few ganks that can drop this much DPS on the field at once (Note I said few, but they do exist)

Survey scanner allows you to direct the fleet to the best rocks up to 135km.

Sensor Booster allows you to lock rats much quicker and at the range of the Orca you will probably kill them before they ever get in range of your fleet.

The MWD is to get the ship (Brick) into warp in 10 seconds, a far cry better than the 40 to 50 seconds the ship (brick) usually takes.

Anyways to explain: while in a station offline the Mining Links and online the MWD
1. Once you undock double click in space as if to turn around and hit the MWD (Good idea to set the module option to ‘Not auto repeat’) this will reduce your speed and direction to zero once one cycle has completed.
2. Select your ‘warp to’ at the same time hit your MWD for one more cycle. At the end of the 10s cycle you will instawarp.
All of this should take 20 seconds. When hopping through gates just use step 2. And you will be in warp in 10s every time.
Once you land on your Roid belt just right click the MWD and put it offline drop a few cap boosters and start putting your links online once your cap reaches 95%. (orca can hold a lot of 800 cap boosters, making this part particularly easy.)

As far as the Rigs I hate slow warps so I personally went with the Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer II and the extra PG it takes to run the MWD is covered with the Large Ancillary Current Router II

goldiiee: Is this a low-sec or high-sec setup? Reason I ask: Doubt in high anyone would try to gank an orca; it's not worth it.

High sec, and if your have a couple hulks and and a combat ship in the fleet hanger, add a few corp cans with fitting for traveling around and you become a bit of a target even in an orca. of course you can always drop the reinforced bulkhead and add an expanded carghold, for when you need a little more room but I found training it up to 5 made more room than I ever needed.

Oh i guess I should add my alt, the one flying it, is currently moving from one incursion to another, so i tend to have a little more value in my cargo that the Ore most will be hauling.

Very true; makes sense now.
I'm working on getting into one of these sooner than later; will try your fitting. Thanks!

Hehe.. i really enjoyed reading all that but most of the time i`m in hisec and to be frank the orca doesnt move a lot so far i was thinking about 3 warfare links or 2 wf links and a small tracktor beam and as for the rigs i dont have any clue on what to fit in there

Tractor beam instead of the capacitor link is a good option if you dont feel like following your miners around the belt.
