How about we move the mining of moon minerals away from the POS, and bring it to a system like PI, but on moons instead of planets??? That would open the moon market significantly, and allow space control to dictate who had access to what, not moon control, but would open it up to small gang tactics...so that you would actually have to control the space with the moons to prevent people from using it under your noses.

It also might let us break the OTEC monopolies that currently in place, that are manipulating things like Platinum, Neodymium, and Technetium to insane price levels...which would help slow down the proliferation of super capitals.

This could also give you the ability to add a new facet to DUST.

That still means it will be a passive income source and the smae alliances would maintain control in effectively the same way.

CCP seem to be aiming to remove passive income where possible and I would be inclined to agree with their principles in the matter.

Have actual pilots actually mining the materials. As long as a method is devised to make afk mining it ineffective, your onto a winner.

I had this idea a year (or so) back and some dev actualy showed some intress on it Twisted

I think it's cool plus you could just throw the current towers to carbage can redo them completely to serve a different purpose. Also I think that this would be a better solution cause alliances have less control on P.I. than moon so more people could actualy get their hands on them which means that more products could be on the market and that would drop proces abit.

After centuries of debating and justifying... Break Cloaks tm

I think what the OP was trying to imply, and the poster previous to me suggested directly, is that it would move the materials into the hands of the people that wanted to do it; which, as PI shows us every day, doesn't even require you to be in system unless you are ready to collect, which would mean ninja access by smaller groups of people is possible.

I understand that, but unless your going to put the reactions into said UI as well, yet would still need to be done in a POS.
Even so, given the SOV control limitation, the coalitions will still maintain their grip.

I still think an active approach over a passive one is the way forward.

Already proposed and even posted in the assembly hall.

Eve is about Capital ships, WiS, Boobs, PI and Isk!

Not sure why you wouldn't put the reactions into a moon interaction interface. The precedent is already there, and I think it would scale to moons nicely, as PI already has basic and advanced processors.
