Weird Ore Market Prices

This has probably been covered before, but I figured I'd ask since I couldn't find a related topic through search:

Why do some of the ore subtypes drop below their normal counterpart's prices. I was looking at http://www.eve-markets.net/ and the median price for regular kernite is 10 isk above the median price for Fiery, and 25 above Luminous. The sell price is even more outrageous at 125 above Fiery and 120 above Luminous. Which is funny because Fiery is being bought above Luminous, but being sold under it.

I don't play the market too much, and I just came back to the game after a long absence, but this just seems silly to me.

Plain kernite is required to complete some mission(s), thus there is demand for it over & above its normal mineral content value.
