Is 0.0 mining better than high sec.?

I have had carebear accounts in the past years and have ALWAYS been high sec., pretty much dont like to be bothered. I was wondering if it is worth the trouble of going to 0.0 to mine? I make about 100 mill isk a day in high, so I'm good with it but it is boring and want to try something new. I guess you can say I'm an AFK miner, I send drones then mine while at work, come back in 15 min and rechoose roids. Would it be worth mining in null or would I be replacing a hulk everyday? I never ventured into the mysterious unknown of null so I need some input from exp., players.

0.0 is perfect for afk mining. You should start over in NPC 0.0 regions like Venal, Stain or Curse
How could you play for years and didnt know that ?

Unless you're mining DEEP within a friendly alliance's space, all mining in 0.0 will get you is blown up fast. And even if you do have a dozen friendly systems between you and any hostile space, there'll still be gangs coming by now and then. For AFK mining, you really do need to stay in highsec space.

if your planning on AFK mining in Null sec, just save your self the trouble and just clickie the self destruct now.

if your looking for some more "interactive" mining then go for it.

As for profitability of mining in Null is VERY dependent on your level or preparation and caution. When ever i mined in null sec i tried my damnedest to only mine in Grav sites. I would set up a warp bubble 100km away from the warp in point in line with all the gates. Local and intel channels are your friend, these two items IMO make null sec mining safer then high sec where you have to worry about can flippers and suicide gankers.

on the rare occasions i mined in a belt i would set up at least 3 bubbles, 100km from the warp in point in line with the belt above and below the belt i was in with the third bubble would be in line with the gate(s). most people hunting for targets in a belt will start at the top (or bottom) of the list and work there way thru the list, rarely do they just jump around at random in my experience.

invest in a carrier, jump freighter, or a few cloaky haulers. mining 3,032 of Mega and 6,726 Zyd is only useful if you can get it to market (EC-P8R can suck FYI). any of those 3 ships will be able to get your ore out of danger either by going around 90% of the people expecting you to "travel the gauntlet" or by being sneaky sneaky and manually flying your ship from 100Km to a gate around multiple bubbles (takes for ever but it was a lot of fun)

with all that being said, let me tell you, the first time you drop 100K Zyd or Mega on the market in jita is a good feeling.

We mine high-ends in sites all the time. Most ships don't have the capability to scan you down, and even if they did you're back inside your POS before they finish launching their probes.

100M/day is laughable, unless of course you're only playing for an hour. Let the bots and noobs in hisec scrape together the garbage ores.

@Igniskhin that sounds interesting. Your mining sounds a bit more fun than HighSec.
