So after many years i still see the same old hubs being camped by the same old pirates, still getting a ton of kills on a daily basis

Amamake
Rancer
Aunenen are some main areas.

Why the hell are people still time and time again being lemmings and going through these systems. Surely people would of learned by now...

I once put the main pirate hubs on 'avoid' on my autopilot. A lot of trips suddenly became very long or impossible.

with cloaky covert ships etc they are easily avoidable from a getting killed perspective.
However you wouldn't auto pilot into a main pirate hub anyway would you lol.

Im guessing some people havnt played long enough to know about these systems, so dont realise how dangerous they "can" be. Other players just go there for the garunteed pvp.

You would be surprised that amount of people that still mine in lowsec with barges and exhumers.

As for the cloaky ships, I would still avoid Rancor, even in one. While a cloaky will get you through 99% of lowsec without much trouble, I have lost cloakys to smartbomb tactics, which the United employ to great efficiency.

Rules of surviving Low Sec

1. Friends
2. Friends
3. Friends
4. Friends
5. Friends
6. Repeat 1-5

I had a toon once in corp that was blue to almost every corp in ARIDIA. Never lost a ship, and mined to my heart's content. Even joined in the occasional gate camp. Would shuttle back and forth between my mining system and the gate camp system. You want to fun in Low you need friends. Otherwise it is almost suicide.

I try to be nice and mind my business just shooting lasers at rocks. There is just way too many asshats in New Eden for that to happen.

The pirate hubs are there precisely because they force people to go through them.
The only fix would be to reroute the systems such that they are more connected.
The downside is that it means even less of EVE becomes used.
Which is really the issue, there just isnt much to do in every system so they kind of just lay fallow, well at least until you show up to see all the goodies.

I think most people who come to Amamake are coming there for the PVP.

Like it was already said, these hubs are where they are for good reason; major travel routes, fw hotspots, entry systems etc. but more than just their location, like Liang said many people go to such areas bc they are pirate hubs and are easy places to find pvp. That's why I originally went to Tama area and haven't left Pirate

There is no "fix" bc there is no problem. There are plenty of alternate routes for those wanting to avoid such systems. They are longer bc they are alternates. Every choice in eve revolves around trade offs.. This is no different

Most people come through rancer because they want to take the short way to jita rather than going 15+ jumps.

we know why pvpers would go to those systems but the real question is why would haulers go through those systems my guess is because the routes through those areas is shorter of course it will be smart to take the longer safer route but that would mean a extra 10 minutes in space which is cutting into their isk making

from jita to hek shortest route which includes going through rancer 9 jumps
from jita to hek safer route 19 jumps

from jita to rens shortest route also going through rancer 15 jumps
from jita to rens safer route 25 jumps

from rens to amarr shortest route which includes ammake 11 jumps
from rens to amarr safer route 20 jumps

I always go through Amamake because if I try to avoid it I have to add 5+ jumps to my usual trip. **** that, it's worth the risk.

It's simple to pass through Rancer if you have 15 minutes one evening to set up some decent tacticals.

The same reason miners continue to mine while gankers are in system in high sec.
