How do you kill that which has no life?

Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

Plot synopsis.

5 CGI enhanced B-list "celebs" stand around for 1 hour and 32 minutes waiting to enter a dungeon. They enter dungeon after the organizer of the party finally shows up (he/she was waiting for some crap to sell at the Auction House) and they enter dungeon.

my thought on how an eve movie could be done is that they could go more into some of the history of eve. the initial colanization, the closing of eve gate, our rising as separate factions. discovering space travel, meeting the jove, the hardships of the minmatar, and the capturing of caldari prime. then get more into the kinds of descriptions of how pod and dusty clone tech work like they cover in the books.
I mean, imagine a section of a movie explaining who these bad ass gods are and why/how they reached that state.

Eve movie would be best to tackle the Rise of the Jovians in my opinion. Its in the distant past, so wouldn't change the course of the current events, its probably in the game Bible what happened with what.

Problem is that a there needs to be a bad that can be resolved, not a minor bad that leaves the landscape uncganged, but a palatable difference that allows the protagonists to have and experience. How can they do that in Warcraft? There needs to be an interesting starting ground, and a development that leads us to an ending. Warcraft is in a kind of perpetual cold war, and does anyone else remember Dungeons and Dragons?

Seems a little late to me. Even the people i know who still play WoW are only doing so to keep in touch with friends, or simply out of habit. There is no real excitement anymore.

If this hits the theaters:

It will have a pretty girl character who is useless and a very capable girl with ambiguous sexual preferences. (gotta keep the hedonistic investors from the West coast happy).

If it has a black guy, he might be the first to get killed, or since everybody now expects the black guy to be the first to get killed, he will be the last, and the hero.

All the bad guys will be white sexual predators. If there is a bad girl, she'll be matronly. If she's working with the bad white sexual predators, she'll have some uncanny control over them that nobody can figure out.

Any other men on either side will be personally powerless to everything that happens to them and survive only by selling out to it all.

The plot will probably be this template:

Some "wonder kid" who is special and has power that he does not know much or care about loses his girl.
Wonder Kid single-handledly tries to kick everybody's ass, but fails, and learns how to be social. He gains the help of some funny misfits and oh everybody is all so special even if they suck (we have an entire generation of people raised to think like this so the movie has to fit).
Wonder Kid then goes on to kick everybody's ass with help from misfits, losing a few along the way who fit some stereotype that nobody cared about anyway, and they'll say something touching as they find a way to die in the scene after the battle.

There will be a final fight scene where the main bad guy has the girl tied up or something, and he's going to have the usual platitudes and reasons.

What did I miss?

Oh yeah if there's a dog it will steal the show.

Perchance there is any worthwhile message in this movie, for some reason or by accident, the audience will be too busy oohing and ahhing at the special effects to notice (the Star Wars episodes 1-3 for example).

Yeah I'm no fun at parties. Hollywood can stuff it's crap movies back up its ass too.

Meanwhile, if there is ever an Eve movie, if it's made in Iceland and has ponies it might be good.

CCP needs to get us an EVE movie.

Despite what we think of the game, it just is not that well enough known to be of interest to the profit machine that is Hollywood. Game must be at the popularity level of a WoW or DOOM to attract enough financing.

If it does get enough financing for independent production though, one runs the risk of it being in the hands of Uwe Boll Ugh

edit: It's still hard to believe he directed one episode of Twin Peaks.

It's Sci-Fi, space oriented, has ships and guns.. What's not to like?

I would assume that if CCP developed a movie based around EVE, without telling everyone it is a video game and trying to sell it as such, (seriously, who does this? - D&D, oh yeah), it would do well on its own merit provided it had an engaging storyline and some awesome visuals and action.

edit: I did watch the D7D movie; it was mostly bad, but it warmed my heart. Lol Were there two? I don't recall. There were many much better fantasy movies that stood on their own without that title or inference.

I have never watched the Assassins Creed movie, though I have considered it briefly, but I did watch the DragonAge? movie. Was it DragonAge? Not that memorable.

Bottom line? Don't sell it as a video game. Video game movies have been done, and the successful one was a Final Fantasy movie, which was awesome. Why? Probably because they didn't try to limit it to game content and story.

You should tell them about Skype, Twitter and Facebook; they're sure to like one of them much better. Lol Google+? Not sure what that is, but it seems to be getting popular.

Seriously though, I can't see how a WoW movie could possibly be good, unless it happened to have Gene Simmons and Mr. T in it. Lol

http://wac.7725.edgecastcdn.net/807725/website/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/SimmonsInTheMist-610x339.jpg

Really, my biggest issue with WoW is that there is no content; it has a complete lack of any real backstory or lore. It's basically just card-stacking with color pictures. Magic the Gathering with avatars and WASD movement. What's the point?

No, Magic the Gathering does not have Lore or a backstory; they just sort of piece together what is written on the cards, or try to make sure it follows a common trend once per year or so.

Basically, yadayadayada.. planes, yadayadayada.. flying ships, swamps, yadayadayada, oceans and illusions, yadayadayada.. goblins, fire, mountains, yadayadayada, epic, legendary, yadayadayada.. other keywords.

I'm fairly convinced, (and have evidence to support this), that most players of these games don't actually read.. much.

edit2: I'll admit, I may be a little harsh in my judgement. Certainly, I have never been fond of the game. Call it an inherited bias, given I dislike the impact it and games like magic have had on the modern RPG genre. It is possible that, properly done, a WoW movie might actually be good; I just can't imagine it.

There actually is lore, but it's pretty generic fantasy stuff. Spells and ****. Humans and orcs who hate eachother, and elves doing the elf thing. Good and bad dragons. Etc.

Some people get really hyped up about the different faction leaders, but i'll never understand why. They're completely unremarkable and stereotypical.

I will say the race of magic Egyptian Insects, whatever they were called, were pretty cool and unique, but i don't think they've seen much use in years.

You didn't miss much. Stereotypical Hollywood extruded fantasy product. Long on the acrobatics, scripted fights, and pretty vistas, short on everything else.

Pretty much this.
Though I will note that the player-driven content over time has produced a few stories that would make for good solid plots.
