Please, I _beg_ of you CCP, adjust the chat tab indicators so that they do not blink. If it Must blink, let it do so only when our name is mentioned in the channel. The constant fast-blinking of my chat tabs is needlessly distracting and at times, even maddening. At the moment the only option the user has is to disable the indicator entirely, which leads to either missed posts or OCD over-checking. Leaving it on means I have to either OCD "stop the blinkey!" or suffer the distraction when im busy.

Its quite ridiculous that the interface has more pixels dedicated in a high visual priority to tell me someone posted "lol" in a chat channel than when someone is actually firing on my ship. Seriously, I counted the pixels in a screen shot. With a 2 word chat tab it wins out over the overview icon combat indicator by a factor of four and has relatively close animation rate. Do you really think a chat is more important than someone shooting me?

Simply displaying the graphic that is currently used for blinking would suffice to inform anyone that there are unread posts. The added feature of blinking when your name and/or a list of "watch phrases" was mentioned would be nice, but I understand that would require new code / man hours and not a simple interface tweak.


Similarly, a solid vs blink option would be quite nice for the mail, wallet, and other neocom buttons. These are not quite as dire though, as you suffer less of a consequence by completely disabling their indicators (as many i've spoken to already have.)

I can't stand all the blinking; blinking stuff drives me crazy, so I turn it off and miss conversations.


Another idea to add to this: unread message indicator, so you know just how much you have missed since you swapped to a different tab.
