PvE: Remote-Repair-Cruiser for Battleship?

Hi all,

please give me input, if this could work with the new PvE AI or not:

I think about skilling for a Cruiser that will use Remote-Repair-Modules to support a BS in Level 4 PvE Missions.

I plan to jump at the BS position at 50km distance and start repairing.
I plan to use an Exequror or a similar Cruiser.
I plan to use multiple Remote-Armor-Repair modules.

My questions:
Do you have any experience if this will work and help the BS?
Will it work to jump into the mission to avoid beeing targeted?
Which Cruiser do you recommend for this task (and what fitting)?

Any input is highly appreciated, thanks
Smo

That will be one dead cruiser.

Smart AI FTW.

Repairing should be your last option. Better bring more DPS and kill faster. You will finish the mission sooner and make more ISK/hour.

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

I'd suggest finding out yourself and not asking the people, who will mostly suggest to not do it anyway.

It used to be that the rats only targeted the first thing that approached/agressed them, and stayed target-fixated for the rest of the fight. That is no longer true as rats switch targets often and according to ship type. Your cruiser will be targeted.

Now there are ways to sig/speed tank the rats provided your cruiser stays moving at a high enough transversal and has the cap and the rep range to do it. Damage should be minimal. However you must really ask yourself that if you need two ships to accomplish what can usually be done by one - perhaps something is wrong with your fitting. Unless you're doing level 5's or some of the larger scannable sites (7/10 and up), you really should be able to solo the sites in a decently fit battleship/pirate battleship/T3 cruiser without having to use logi.

It could works, but i don't understand why you want to do this. A solo BS can do every LV4 without any problem. Buy a mach or nightmare (or do lv4 until you can afford one) and use an alt to salvage in a noctis.

The noctis would get targeted in the mission the same as the cruiser. If you really want to use an alt to help with the mission, then put him in another dps ship and finish the mission twice as fast.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

Id give it a shot with the cruiser repping. I do the same with anomalies in null and it works fine. The worst that can happen is you lose the cruiser which isn't that big of a deal.

Hum...well...you know...noctis usualy warp AFTER the rats are dead and for max isk, it's better to have an alt to salvage.

if you need a rep alt for level 4 missions then you should stop playing.
Level 4's are easy solo. both if your going to use a alt just have him in a combat ship double you dps in mission and kill it 2x faster.

But like i said if you need a rr alt eather you suck at mission running or fititng a ship maybe both.

i can solo any level 4 without useing alt. but i use a 2nd alt in a combat ship to get it done faster.

I dunno, the ASB noctis has a fairly sturdy tank.... you would be surprised.

Not very promising what I read here about the idea... ok, I won't do it then, thanks for the input @all.

Fly save!

I know of a few people that used to have their noctis fly with them as they'd never get aggro with it before. The noctis would TP while also salvaging. Also, as the thread was about running missions with 2 characters, telling him how best to run it with 1 character doesn't help, nor telling him to use the other character to salvage afterwards.

running a cruiser will have trouble keeping up the tank on a Large BS. I would suggest probably getting a Dominix and using that to Logi your BS if you want to try it out. It can fit the large reppers no prob....

and also you should play around with energy transference. With transferring energy, cap, you can focus your main ship on more DPS without worrying about cap stability or tank. It can be alot of fun. Just have one orbit and transfer and repair. Then you don't have to move back and forth as much as you do if you are using two DPS ships.

Its a good way to start out multiboxing, as it can be a little crazy at first, using 2 different accounts in the same battle.
