..Hello! I have my very nice desktop that I play Eve on. I would like a lap top to use in tandem with my desktop (main pilot/alt pilot). Also, to play a bit while sitting on the couch with my wife.

I'm looking for a rig that will play Eve and not make my eyes bleed. I would rather spend a bit more then have to deal with errors and slowdown. I don't want my gameplay to suffer because of performance issues.

This rig will pretty much only run Eve, with a bit of interwebs thrown in.

My budget for this rig probably won't exceed $500.

Is there something out there for me? New/used, doesn't matter. By used I mean a mainstream rig that is a year or so old that I might be able to find on eBay.

Tank you for reading this and fly safe!

ACER has some nice laptops, and they generally tend to be reliable. ASUS of course, has their own offerings which tend to be more focused on gaming, but I haven't a clue how reliable they are, or even if the are reasonably priced. You'd have to check them out and compare I suppose.

Anything with an AMD Mobility HD/ Nvidia GTX/GT 6** / Intel HD GPU should be able to handle the graphics side of things. Other than that anything that's less than a few years old should have enough horsepower processor and memory to run Eve, I've had it running on a AMD fusion setup at HD resolutions without problems.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I have two asus laptops and can tell you they a fantastic in terms of reliability. However, not sure you'll get one for under $500 for the spec you want.
