Without the proliferation of alts, I doubt Eve would have survived as long as it has.

You need a alt to go play with, when none of the alts in your corp are speaking. Ugh

I-ya, I against I, flesh of my flesh, and mind of my mind, two of a kind but one won't survive, my images reflect in the enemies eye, and his images reflect in mine the same time,
I-ya, I-ya, I against I, flesh of my flesh, and mind of my mind, two of a kind but one won't survive, ....

I've created 3 alts the last three months and the last one is dropping out of rookie channel tomorrow.

The speed at which obvious newbies ask questions in the rookie channel has become crazy during these three months, with the channel regularly topping 5000 characters at peak time right now.

It has basically become difficult to even read many questions, so fast do they scroll out of view. Any question with more than a line of text has a good chance of not getting answered because it was too long to be read in time. Same ofc for answers. And newbies have a hard time to read a more complete answer.

Often the best way would be to open a private chat with the person answering your question, but only few manage to do it at that stage.

There are a lot of new players currently trying to get into New Eden.

Remove standings and insurance.

Do we have stats on this, I would like to know how many accounts are indeed alts. EVEs overall population is growing, but sometimes its hard to work out if people are creating more alts or not

According to the last CSM minutes, CCP is looking into this.

Remove standings and insurance.

Change your course CCP, Altville is not the game I envisioned when I joined, nor is it likely to attract new players.
As opposed to Incarna, which was designed to do exactly what you ask, actually expand the game and attract new players. And that worked out well.

Unfortunately (for you), "I don't like alts therefore new players won't join EVE" is a non-sequiter.
