I just recently got a Noctis. Not sure all the things I can do with it yet besides normal missions salvaging. But I just read somewhere about someone having a battle Noctis. What the heck is that?

Fit for PvP and have fun.

Not the most affective PvP ship...but thats not really the point

It's not been nice, but thanks for using lube

It's a Noctis fitted for battle, obviously.

The ship doesn't have any turret or missile slots, but that doesn't prevent one from filling the 8 high slots with smartbombs, neutralizers, etc. Then you can try to fit a tank in the low slots and some sort of point and web in the med.

Could also be sarcasm.

Of course, it uses drones for damage.

The Venture is another great bait ship.

[Noctis, battlenoctis]

4x Small Unstable Power Fluctuator I
4x Small 'Notos' Explosive Charge I

Large Ancillary Shield Booster (Cap Booster 150)
Faint Epsilon Warp Scrambler I

Damage Control II
2x Drone Damage Amplifier I

Medium Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
2x Medium Core Defense Field Extender I

5x Hobgoblin II

Something along these lines. I dare say it can be improved upon (a lot), it's a fit I knocked up a while back when I heard that a drone bay was incoming on the Noctis.

Perverting seemingly innocuous ships is an art, and I suck at art.

I prefer combat Helio's, the battle badger, or battle barges.

I've had a LOT of fun ganking assault frigates in a Helios... Enyo's, Wolf's, Harpy's.... the tears are delicious!!!

Pretty much, people will carelessly attack ships that look "easy to kill".... and end up biting off more than they can chew!

Brawler Griffin, kill them AND make them whine, preferably at the same time followed by hatemail.

What's a trap

lol sorry I have a weird sense of humour, the "It's a trap" refers to pretty much anything in Eve that looks too good to be true or a ship that isn't commonly used for PvP that somebody has fitted for combat, ie Battle Barges and Battle Badgers.

Cool. Got it. :).

Have you ever used it for pvp did it work?

Non-combat ships fitted for combat come with the full array of disadvantages and disabilities, from not having proper weapons, shields, and armor, to not having any bonuses for damage, no speed whatsoever, only a few targets can be locked, etc.

As cool and exciting as it sounds, it's like Zorro - ultimately, a petty outlaw that was successful only because of the incompetence of the police system where he was operating - put Zorro in present time Syria or any other troubled place and have him "fight for the people" see how far he gets.

It's a bit of a tortured analogy, but these are ships for very specific situations, where you're trying to pretend that you're a hapless victim and then pouncing and killing your attacker. The tactic never works twice; they get smart about it and can kill your noctis with a frigate if they want to, and it's been done for several years so people know about it and expect it.

If you want to learn PVP combat, use the usual PVP combat ships. A battle Noctis or battle Badger is likely to have you sitting in a belt for 4 hours hoping that someone comes in and nobody will, or get you Concordokkened because you didn't mind the suspect flagging details.

Also, a Noctis costs, what, 80 million? That's the cost of a battleship, with the fighting power of a frigate. I believe the term for that is "juicy target."

To me a noctis would be good for hot drops (they can fit cynos right?) but only with a good group that would reliably get reps on it right away. Otherwise you're better off putting a drake or something out there as bait.

For sheer "lulz" fleetness there are battle barges and badgers as said before.
