A nice feature indeed.

edit: consider this a reply to the people who requested/proposed fleet-boss dropping fixes

*** add a second/third free move option (don't change the existing rules) to allow free move to wing- and/or fleet-commanders.

Furthermore an option to make a corp/alliance fleet boss in order to avoid dropping adverts when someone disconnects would be nice.

Theese are my suggestions but definately not mine alone, pretty much every corp/alliance i have been in in the past years countless people have been asking for this or similar, so while you are at it, maybe add 20 more lines of code, pretty please :)

Since you're already mucking about in that code, a while back I noticed that the fleet window's reported position for you (wing & squad) sometimes doesn't match where you really are. (In a large fleet, finding oneself in the fleet window can be a real chore.) I don't know what causes this, and I don't know if it has been fixed in the recent past.

I've bug reported this and it came back a day later as "not reproducible."
Which is ridiculous seeing as it happens to me in almost every fleet I'm in.

No, sorry. James and I are talking about buggy behavior in the existing Tranquility client. The fleet window, in the window title, lists the wing and squad you're in. Unfortunately, the information displayed is often wrong, but I wasn't able to determine a rationale to the wrong-ness.

No, the green stuff is pretty much always right from what I can tell, but yes the window title is what's inaccurate.
Normally this wouldn't be a problem but when combined with the window resetting when you try to scroll to find which squad you're in (which you say you've fixed, so that's awesome) it can be problematic.

The ID for the bug report I filed on this particular issue is 136623.
Ignore the screenshot that's attached, I don't know how that got there but it's entirely unrelated to the problem.

Fleet boss disconnect, followed by semi-random new fleet boss assignment, is a major pain point. Please give us a way to designate a backup!


Stop using afk boosters then. This will also be fixed soon enough when boosts are forced to be on grid.

With free move on anyone can take up squad / wing / fleet command positions that are vacant (tq behaviour). Also, right now I think only the fleet boss can move other people but I guess it makes sense for wing / fleet commanders to have that power too.

Well that sounds nice =)

But, by doing this can you please remove the "what-happen-if-double-click" from watchlist? Or give me a option to disable "double-klick-on-character"? Cause this "feature" is badly annoying as a Logisticspilot.

I'm not interested in Convos with my Fleetmates nor do i need to see their charinfo. If so, there are tons of other ways to do so.

Hi Karkur - thanks for this addition, it's definitely useful. While we're on the subject, here's a wishlist for the fleet window:

- Allow multiple people to be dragged to another position in fleet at the same time. Alternatively: add an option that allows the fc/boss to move everyone from wing a to wing b. This is especially useful when consolidating a fleet into a lesser number o fwings for bonuses

- It's currently not possible to move someone into membership of an empty squad, they become squad leaders automatically. This might be a lot of effort to fix for something this marginal, but hey

The following aren't really UI issues, but here it goes anyway:

- Please add the 'scout' option back to the fleet window. Members with scout role do not get fleet warped

- Add 'expand full wing' and 'expand full fleet' options to fleet menu, so avoid lots of unnecessary clicking. (Yes, I'm a Goon, we need lots of space in fleet ok.)

- Allow squads/wings or even full fleets to be restricted to specific shiptypes. This allows for customizable fleets where all the different shiptypes (dps, logistics, ewar) go into pre-setup squads where the correct boosters can easily be setup. This also ensures the fleet will have enough room for logistics, because several squads would be 'reserved' for them.

Ofcourse, as suggested already, saving these as (exportable) presets would be ideal.

I realize this is very complex and might not be necessary if a full fleet mechanic overhaul is being looked at/worked on. However, we can come a long way to this if:

- Ship type is shown in the fleet window (not just fleet composition). In combination with easy drag & drop fleet movement, we can quickly shuffle the fleet and respective boosters around to their correct setup. Perhaps their leadership skills could be shown, too.

Hopefully the above can be considered.

edit: restricting squads is probably really hard to do, with the current mechanic not registering people that are docked, also weird stuff would happen if people change shiptypes. Just show shiptypes in fleet window, pretty please with a cherry on top

Please remove the Quit Corp option from the fleet dropdown menu. Seriously, why is this even here? This has no relevance to fleet operations.

You might as well include a Biomass Character option in the fleet dropdown menu for all the sense it makes, which is none.

The drag and drop option is awesome and I agree with Vee's Wishlist but would like to add that you have to jump through hoops to get assigned fleet boosters to work IE: My character is in the Fleet Command Posistion but I remove the fleet boost from myself and assign fleet boost to another character, once this is done all that happens is the little spinny loading circle just spins and never applies fleet boost.

And can you please move the "Leave Fleet" button away from the "Add Wing" button when you right click Fleet Command position (i may or may not have left fleet trying to expand it a few times)
