I apologize to players for the rant, but... First I encounter bugs preventing me from completing a tutorial, then a bug which caused my main ship to be destroyed, then I get ganked in 1.0 security space with no Concord response. I play video games to escape bullshit, not have bullshit forced down my throat and then some. Of course I realize that this is what was intended, and some people enjoy the masochism, but IMO this is wasting enormous amounts of my time by getting me nowhere.

Just BTW...

There is a TUT mission that gets your ship destroyed.

Petition on stuck is normally responded to immediately. Being ganked without concord response is highly unlikely if at all, especially in a 1.0 system. In that regard you may have had a rude welcome to the suspect aggression mechanics.

If your actually serious, take a bit of time to understand what it is your talking about, or at least ask the question.

Or

Good Troll attempt.

I have to admit the learning curve for new players is hard. Which would mostly turn down the casual players.

You definitely picked the wrong game to escape bullshit! Lol

This is EVE, this is PvP.

Do not play a PvP game when you are not ready for the challenge. There is no bus waiting for you to pick you up.

EVE is a cold and harsh place, and this is not just a theme, it is the truth.

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

No bugs happened, looks like the usual "didn't read the tutorial text" situation that happens roughly 300 times a day in Rookie Chat.

All of those "bugs" are most likely due to user errors. I can notice from your, excuse me, a bit sloppy writing that you haven't been reading the tutorial mission briefings quite well. Also like pointed before, there is a self destruct mission as part of tutorials.

Also prior to starting any new game, you should look around and get some basic information and not just go in and do whatever... Well I mean when were playing real games not some "Press W to move" "Great Job!" games... Back in 90's most of NES games showed the mechanics of the game by creating first few levels to be quite easy and force players to use most of the different mechanics ingame, this applies for Eve tutorials as well.

You most likely went ahead and opened someones can in 1.0 space and got flagged and "Boom goes the dynamite". This is a harsh world, not some funny teletappy galaxy with rainbows and hugs. This game has a harsh learning curve, because it's meant to toughen all players for what future holds for them. Same was for Ultima Online too, the players were destroyed if they tried to leave towns (Back in Felucca days <3) and ghosts were running all over and bodies piled up, in Eve we have some hi-sec space to fly around and have protection of "guards" from random attacks, oh and the Condor WILL attack if you really do hostile actions in hi-sec.

We are in no mean masochist, well some might, but in general. We just think, reaaaal careful before doing actions, because every action has a counter action and so on...

Use your brain matter and push forward! It's not meant to be simple and easy game, your flying spaceships god dammit!

Maybe you should have done some research on the game before you started playing. Reading the forums would have given you a good indication as to what eve is all about. Then, you might have not wasted your time Roll

1. When I started to play EVE a year ago I had a bug in one of the starting missions, too - I petitioned it and it got solved in a short time. Did you try to petition it?

2. Please describe how your main ship got destroyed, so we can see if it's really a bug or not - as mentioned already by others, there is a mission where your ship gets destroyed - it's an attempt to try to teach you that you shouldn't hold any ship too valuable, because you will lose it in the end.

3. When you really have been ganked in high security without Concord then this would be a serious bug. Please describe the circumstances more in detail, so we can see if it was a bug - propably it wasn't, and you fell for some trick.

EVE is a great game to "escape bullshit", but you should be aware which kind of "bullshit" you can escape here and which you can't. If you want to escape from a boring rl day, EVE is good, because it can be highly entertaining. If you want to escape a very busy rl day and just do something where you don't need much attention, EVE is not good, because a small mistake can mean that you lose a lot, maybe even all your assets. In this case other games propably would be more suited.

Your story reminds me of the time when I was a kid, and I played my uncle at checkers and lost. So, I played him again, and lost again. I was pissed, and it seemed like he had absolutely no mercy. After that, I never played checkers again. (I made that last part up.)

You walked into a Goomba and lost your flower power. So, you're just gonna quit?

Blapping people in 1.0 is a big no no with CCP, so petition it.

As for bugs, report them.

As for missions you can't complete, report them.

What do you want CCP to do if your first port of call with an issue is to shout on the forums?

It's like me saying "why doesn't chribba deny that he had relations with Jaspet ore" and then raging before he has a chance to reply.

Name me a single video game that isn't a waste of time and gets you places. Cool Video games are BS by their definition, to bad this particular BS didn't suit you and you had bad luck starting out.

Dude, my first advice in EVE was, stay da fuk away from the official forums until you train Trolling IV, recomeneded would be Advanced Trolling III wich will take you a good couple of months in EVE. So get out of here quick as possible and head over EVE UNI and start reading and make friends. Get into a player corp, that will also help you a lot at the beginning. The npc corps also require high skills in trolling.

On the same note, it took more me than 2 years to start playing EVE. Twice a year I tried a trial but never managed to resist more than few hours in game. I never understood how come a normal person can play such a horrible game and also pay for it. Now I can tell you that the biggest waste of time is to play anything else than EVE. Playing a themepark crap is really a huge waste of time and is nothing more than just get some fat dudes wallet happy while you get the false impression of having fun.

Say.. you been ganked in hi sec, eh? Next time you will be ganked, don't forget to type GF in local. Doing so, weird as it sounds, may get you more friends than enemies. Then dock up and think about what you did wrong and also try to learn something about it, so this will never happen again. Learn to fit your ship, learn from the gankers and their strategy. All this will make your stronger. And oh.. dont drop tear bags, nevah! Tears are the most precious fuel in EVE, so you may wanna keep that anger and tears in your private cargo.

Welcome to EVE! \o/

Umm... what spaceship MMORPG are you playing? LOL.

Eve is a themepark (check)
Most people complain about being bored (check)
We get fat people rich at CCP (check)

Welcome to the wonderful world of gaming!
