So i started eve with the idea of becoming a miner.
I thought it would be good just hang in belt.

But i got terribly disappointed, there are so many ppl just bumping miners, shooting them and other stuff. Maybe i'm doing something wrong so some tips would be nice. i know mining isn't taking any risk so the pay is bit less and i don't care about that as long as i can keep mining but with all the ppl just hating on miners and messing up their mining it's becoming nearly impossible to mine.

some tips would be nice, i don't care about hating posts so i suggest you don't waste your time.

edit: ship used covetor. system venilen, isanamo, kappas,... i mine in many different systems always trying to find quiet one with still pretty good asteroids.

My only tip for mining is this... Get some friends and just shoot the s**t while you kill the roids.

Or find a good film to watch/book to read.

I mine a lot and have never had any grief other than during hulkaggedon.

Make sure you move away from the main hubs and you should be fine.

make a new post in new player Q&A or Warfare and Tactics, your just going to get trolled to death here.

One helpful (maybe) suggestion is that you perform manufactuing/industry jobs while you mine and/or multibox

Well if your hanging about anywhere near a major population hub, like caldari space in general, your going to deal with alot of people causing you grief.

Go out further and find a nice quiet system. I mine in a spot there is almost no one ever. I have yet to have my can tipped.

If your solo mining in busy systems then your more more than likely to get a few 'Miner Bashers' trying to ruin your mining sessions. I suggest moving to a near empty system and joining an industrial based corps. Miners are the backbone of the Eve economy, don't let anybody tell you different. Not even pappa me.

Maybe you should add some more details like: Where did you mine? What ship did you use? etc.

Never had anyone bumping me around, just the usual can flippers from time to time.

It depends strongly on the place you mine in. Are you mining in a noob area or trade hub perhaps? Or anywhere in caldari space? If yes that would be the problem. Contact me in game I can link you some of my old haunts.

What rocks are the most isk per hour to mine? Which of your mission loot is worth more refined than sold? What blue prints make the most proffit? Answers: https://eve-industrialist.com/ Never sell an item for less than its mineral costs again!

Mine in grav sites or in mission deadspace and generally avoid busy systems.

Always prefer a buffer tank above a active tank for your mining ships.

Do not expect to get madly rich anytime soon.

mining takes forever and is really not worth the effort unless you mine gas or ice and even then its risk to reward ratio is pretty lame.
best to either mine with larger corps for a little more than nothing or learn to pvp.

even a pvp corp needs to mine occasionally, blowing things up kind of lowers the resale value

I mine a fair bit and I don't experience any griefing. Try finding an out of the way place to mine. During organized events like Hulkageddon, I just log and play other games, generally.

i don't mind the low income i just want to be able to sit and mine all day long. guess caldari space isn't good place to do it.

Mining was never assured to be safe. No one is space.

The main idea of mining as a career, is finding a corp, mining in a remote or less populated area and in a big group, or as said, mining in sites or hidden places.

Quote:
but with all the ppl just hating on miners and messing up their mining it's becoming nearly impossible to mine.

People don't hate miners.
They just wish to play the part of being jerks or just want an easy pray.
You are mistaking bored and stupidity with hate.

If you find a decent place to mine, you should have no problems making money and mine quietly until you are bored to death from waiting for cycle, move ore, waiting for cycle, more ore, waiting for cycle, move ore...

Anyway, good luck mining.

Obviously, as stated above multiple times, mine in quiet out-of-the-way systems.

Two other suggestions:

- Consider mining in mission space - i.e., run a mission, and if it has roids in it, don't turn the mission in right away after you complete it. Instead, haul your mining ship into the mission and mine out the roids in there.

- Scan out hisec grav sites and mine those out. Can be somewhat competitive, meaning you will often find others already in there mining. However, if you find grav sites in out-of-the way, quiet systems, you're usually going to be alone.

Hope this helps!

I suggest you move deep down into 0.0 space. Tons of roids, nobody will bother you there. Honest.

go to quiet space

i found the best spots are systems without a station

if you can suck up the fact you have to jump every-time you haul you can almost have a system to your self as no one else would bother mining there, and since no one ever bothers mining there there aren't any greifers cause the greifers wouldn't greif an empty system would they? :P

Some careers demand more cooperation than others. Industry the most... well, we're all a part of industry. Someone mines or salvages, someone researches, someone produces, and at some point it's all getting destroyed anyways. Maybe that's the most important part, it gives industrialists a reason to keep going.

Mining is hard. Hisec mining alone is pointless unless you can be elated by a few million isk a day. Losec mining alone is virtually impossible. Nullsec mining alone is a lottery and all of the odds suck.

Find friends, find trust. Try multiple careers and see which you're better at, and then focus on skilltraining for that career because, unless you sit on a soap box for your living, getting every job done better demands better skilltraining to go with it.

Mining is hard, being alone is hard and being new is hard. Good company will help with all three.
