Was client performance better or worse compared to your TQ experience with the same settings and fleet size? (1=way worse, 5=same, 10=OMG this is awesome) 5
Did you experience any disconnects or crashes? yes - Client went not responding total grey out during warp and during last 75% of warp gate battle and all the way up until I warped out to neighboring gate. when warped back to Planet 1 screen greyed out again but only during the warp. When warp was done. Graphics came back. Not really any lag issues until my client went not responding at the gate I warped to. I manually crashed the client and restarted it. Then only grey out during the warp. The client only went not responding but did not completely crash out.
Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.: The experience was great until the screen except for the hud and ship markers went all grey. otherwise it was a good experience.

in general when fleet was around- about 30 fps
better or worse than TQ? still haven't done large scale pvp on TQ at all *feels bad
Disconnects/crashes... none

Experience: PLEASE do something about podding, bubbles, smartbombs and bombs! >.<
I got smartbombed, bubbled AND podded in this masstest

And please do sth about the problems when some people don't understand "stop shooting"
Yes, I understand if you are lagging behind, but when you get PVPed while you are supposed to kill the rats then you kinda get pissed

Average FPS during the fight at the gate in Poitot, zoomed out (brackets / no brackets): Didn't really have the chance to try, nor did i dare, with the single client i left eating 4gigs of my ram, while windows was telling me to shut it down. (lack of brackets didn't seem to help, the RAM was GONE, would not return until client was restarted.

Average FPS - Zoomed in (brackets / no brackets):^same as above, though the camera seemed to move around relatively smoothly, while it was still functioning.

Was client performance better or worse compared to your TQ experience with the same settings and fleet size? (1=way worse, 5=same, 10=OMG this is awesome): 4, since i didn't really get to do much other than hope windows wouldn't close me final client, which it eventually did

Did you experience any disconnects or crashes? Yes, 3. Crashes, from exponential ram usage. No, i'm not going to add another 30gigs of ram to my system just to play Eve b/c CCP likes to leave massive RAM leaks.

Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.: Fix your bloody RAM leaks before you make anything else new and shiney, then before pushing anything new and shiney onto TQ, make bloody well sure they don't have any RAM leaks themselves.

  • CPU: Intel Core i7 860 @ 2.8GHz
  • GPU: NVidia GeForce GTS 240 1GB
  • RAM: 8GB
  • How many clients were you running at the same time? Two - One on Singularity, one on TQ.
  • Graphic setting of the client (low / medium / high):
  • - Anti-Aliasing: Disabled
    - Shader Quality: High
    - Texture Quality: High
    - LOD Quality: High

User Experience

  • Average FPS during the fight at the gate in Poitot, zoomed out (brackets / no brackets): 11-15fps with and without brackets respectively
  • Average FPS - Zoomed in (brackets / no brackets): varied - 5fps at one point, up to 15fps. Similar regardless of whether brackets were on or off.
  • Was client performance better or worse compared to your TQ experience with the same settings and fleet size? (1=way worse, 5=same, 10=OMG this is awesome): 5. I'm not normally in super-large fleet fights so I couldn't compare - but the settings are otherwise the same as my TQ client, so I would suspect the results are about the same.
  • Did you experience any disconnects or crashes? No
  • Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.: Framerates aside, things seemed pretty smooth to me for my hardware with an engagement of that size.

  • Need to play with things more when I get a chance, though. Thanks for putting this on!

24 gig Ram
Running 2 clients
Graphics set to high on both clients
Anti-aliasing on low on both clients
SHader Q on high
Texture Q on high
LOD Q on high
Average FPS during the fight while zoomed out was 13-14 FPS on each client and 18-19 FPS zoomed in. I am not able to compare my experience on TQ as I have never been in a fleet fight that large on TQ.
No disconects or crashes were experienced
Overall everything seemed really smooth from my perspective. No real lag beyond TIDI

  1. Unable to connect to the EvE voice server. Disabling and re-enabling EvE Voice had no effect; when voice was re-enabled still showed the error to server connection info in the audio settings
  2. Drone behavior using the Prophecy was odd during the fights. Drones would attack targeted item for a while but then return and orbit

Average FPS during the fight at the gate in Poitot, zoomed out (brackets / no brackets): Around 30-40 with brackets, but it depends on how zoomed out it is.
Average FPS - Zoomed in (brackets / no brackets): Around 12-16 with brackets.
Was client performance better or worse compared to your TQ experience with the same settings and fleet size? (1=way worse, 5=same, 10=OMG this is awesome) N/A, never flew with a fleet that large on TQ.
Did you experience any disconnects or crashes? One crash at the gate in Poitot before the fight started from attempting to disable in-game audio. After warping away from the control tower spot in fleet W the game sound quit, but I could still hear fleet voice chat. I was trying to disable and enable audio in an attempt to get it working again. After the crash and restarting the game sound was restored.

Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.:
I don't really have any comments or suggestions concerning the test itself. It was a fun experience, although a little tough at times getting my drones to respond. My sentry drones got lost in the mess when assaulting the control tower.

Changing graphics settings to the performance preset caused my framerate to easily go over 100 FPS when assembling on the gate before the test took place and around 40-50 FPS when assaulting the control tower when zoomed in. I switched all settings back to maximum when assaulting the control tower since so many of the effects were missing and the ships looked like they did back in 2006.

I could have gotten better framerate since the graphics card wasn't being fully utilized. Perhaps in the future the client could take advantage of more CPU threads for better CPU utilization.

Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.:
Everything was smooth! The TD (time dilation) after gate jumps was as expected and I had no problem with the grid and no lagging after the TD-effect. No crashes as mentioned. The EVE-Voice was also very clear to listen and not lagging at all but my microphone was not recognized. Had this time participated with dreadnoughts and was impressed with the high FPS with all clients. In the past was always trouble with FPS and lagging while flying caps. P The FPS also bearly changed this time while changing the brackets!
