Issues installing on macbook air

My mac meets all the requirements to play the game but when I try to download the game through steam it crashes before the launcher opens. I've tried deleting the file in preferences like a previous article suggested but the same thing happens. I've also tried clearing it from my computer and downloading the client directly from the Eve site, but when i try to install it I get an "Illegal Seek" error message. Does anyone have a solution to this? I've just upgraded from my old dell laptop and its quite frustrating not being able to access my account on the road.

What vintage MBA do you have? I have had no problems installing or running EVE on my 2011 11". There may have been some setting files that Steam put in your Library that are causing you to fail on getting a clean install. Do a Finder search for "EVE" and make sure you got them all.
