Fighters 5 or Carrier 5 for a combat thanatos?

Debating which one I should train.

Gallente carrier 5 gives slightly more fighter DPS total and more rep range, but the 20% bonus from fighters 5 still applies to assigned fighters where the 5% per level from carrier 5 does not.

Carrier 5 will allow you 1 extra fighter to assign though, which makes a difference. In the end I think the dps will be kind of similar but personally I would go for carrier 5, always nice with that rep range.

Seems to be better with Fighter 4 + Carrier 5, but the difference is small, though carrier also bonuses rep range.

Feel free to repeat the math for the assigned fighters situation.

Equivalent Fighters With 0 DCU:
Fighter 4 + Carrier 5: 10 * (1 + 4 * 20%) * (1 + 5 * 5%) = 22.5
Fighter 5 + Carrier 4: 9 * (1 + 5 * 20%) * (1 + 4 * 5%) = 21.6

Equivalent Fighters With 1 DCU:
Fighter 4 + Carrier 5: 11 * (1 + 4 * 20%) * (1 + 5 * 5%) = 24.75
Fighter 5 + Carrier 4: 10 * (1 + 5 * 20%) * (1 + 4 * 5%) = 24

Equivalent Fighters With 2 DCU:
Fighter 4 + Carrier 5: 12 * (1 + 4 * 20%) * (1 + 5 * 5%) = 27
Fighter 5 + Carrier 4: 11 * (1 + 5 * 20%) * (1 + 4 * 5%) = 26.4

Equivalent Fighters With 3 DCU:
Fighter 4 + Carrier 5: 13 * (1 + 4 * 20%) * (1 + 5 * 5%) = 29.25
Fighter 5 + Carrier 4: 12 * (1 + 5 * 20%) * (1 + 4 * 5%) = 28.8

Equivalent Fighters With 4 DCU:
Fighter 4 + Carrier 5: 14 * (1 + 4 * 20%) * (1 + 5 * 5%) = 31.5
Fighter 5 + Carrier 4: 13 * (1 + 5 * 20%) * (1 + 4 * 5%) = 31.2

Equivalent Fighters With 5 DCU:
Fighter 4 + Carrier 5: 15 * (1 + 4 * 20%) * (1 + 5 * 5%) = 33.75
Fighter 5 + Carrier 4: 14 * (1 + 5 * 20%) * (1 + 4 * 5%) = 33.60

Tau's math is right and you get more DPS with carrier V AND the added repp bonus's to boot.

But Fighters V does open up bombers.

Something you may want in the long run.
