If, combined with the G**ns campaign, prices go through the roof and inflation spirals, it won't be the miners complaining. Because ganking is quite "legal" and "part of the game", let's call the bluff and use that mechanic and force the issue. G**ns either have to back off or help make it all come true.

Then we'd do some drone sanctums, get enough minerals to build a couple of dozen cruisers in an hour, use those to make T2 and T3 cruisers and happily carry on.

Oh, sorry, did you think you were irreplaceably essential to my game?

Gasp. Go ratting to get minerals. To make T2 and T3? Might need to check your blueprints.

Besides, G**ns are going to stuff up T2 production, not miners.

But yes, we are very important. Given that there may be some truth to the rumour that drones were gonna lose their minerals?

Over to you.......

Actually no, don't bother. If I told you water was wet you'd argue with me. Fairly predictable mutterings.

If the situation changes I'll adapt to the changed situation.

Luckily, even if drones stop dropping minerals there are vast amounts of (largely unused) belts yielding all mineral types in 0.0

People used to mine there, you know.

A few hundred 0.0 dwellers will mine for themselves (imagine 0.0 turning into miners!!) and highsec - about 80% of the playerbase will go hang. Think you can supply them all?

It is isn't it?

And you can put it back on the market at a vast profit (which is what we want) or you can try moving it and lose it all.

Nice idea, won't work though, everybody i know who mass produces ships and modules either mines themselves or has corp friends that either mine for them or supply them with loot/drone resources to recycle.

To be honest i think the people supplying the market with resources are only a small % of the resources being created ingame and getting those people to stop mining will do very little.

Everyone would still have minerals due to 76% (according to the last QEN, IIRC) of them coming from the Drone Regions.

+1

Since null sec is full of mining/rating bots, nothing will happen.

sure they would if it meant a tidy profit from controlling the mineral markets

it would be extra rmt for them selling ships because noone else can build them if the miners all down tools.

if there is a demand for ships & mods and no mineral being supplied to build those ships because miners downed tools.......... suddenly you have a reason to bot mine to build those ships in demand. Basic economics.

as dronelands has the highest concentration of naturally occuring a,b,c & m ores in the belts (no need for i-hub upgrades) it stands to reason the russians bots would be used to mine it all.

How do you plan to enforce embargo for any significant amount of time?

Huge coalitions has a gaps when trying to gank only in few selected systems. And keep in mind, most of those gankers are experts in what they do.

How do you actually propose to embargo all highsec systems, with only a few carebear miners, who support this action, and who cannot sustain this kind of blockade for long. For them, ruining their security standing has much bigger consequences, since they want to continue living in high-sec. And who is going to pay for their losses during absolutely glorious miner on miner gankogeddon? You?
In the first few days people will loose security standing, and then, since they dont have organized bases, poses, logistic centers, it will all break down.

And dont get me wrong. I may think that this whole idea is stupid and ridiculous, but i still think it will be funny to see what you will be able to do. Just for the kicks, just to see what happens. Thats why we play the game, right?

If there is an eve-wide mineral shortage, why on earth would we throw away a strategic advantage by supplying minerls to our enemies?

PS, your estimate of nullsec population is out by a couple of orders of magnitude.

Highsec miners outnumber G**ns currently doing ice interdiction ops. I know, I went and counted you G**ns today. And that same trip to Gallente ice today also showed the effectiveness of your campaign.

Isogen is limited to 2 roid types. Kernite, found in Amarr space 0.7 and below, and Omber in Minmatar and Gallente 0.7 and below. A concerted effort can be effective - granted, only if the majority of highsec miners join.

1) Most should refuse to mine in support for those 2 types and those that do must be stopped.
2) Blockading major hubs (we only want the Isogen transports) can be accomplished both by miners themselves, their alts or new 10 day alts. Don't discount using merc corps either.
3) Failing that, simply buying up and holding stock will also drive the prices up.

It's quite obvious that this NEEDS miners to participate. If not then they have only themselves to blame.
