All clothes for all characters - This is what needs and should have always be done.

We have players who converted to the Amarr religion yet can't wear robes, even female Amarr can't use robes. Incarna and character development has so much more which could be done. More faction backgrounds, bring back the Gurista's, Bloodraider etc. so those playing for those factions can show it!

Most wanted more spaceships and less walking in stations though, so now that's what we have.

This. Most definately this. And different hair-styles for the different races. Used to be you could tell them apart by some superficial things.

They currently don't make sunglasses dark enough to hide the shame from your filthy dirty eyes anyhow.

Indeed.

I can see limiting the basic selection of clothing items in a race specific way, however anything purchased off of the open market (or the NEX) should be wearable by anyone. Gender restrictions likely need to persist as they would require additional art assets be created for them to look correct.

I can understand why those lacking slaves to hold the sun shade might require sunglasses, but surely your ships fit polarizing viewports.
