This is an incredible example of how news agencies are on the razors edge of whats happening *as it's happening*. Fantastic timely coverage.

In conclusion, there is a violation of sovereign Mandate Space, and the libertines and savages pat each others backs until they all have scoliosis...then just a little more for good measure.

First of all;
Congratulations!

Second;
Stormriders are looking to boolster their ranks and any and all former slaves are once again welcome. As in the past we do provide shelter, work, protection and/or opportunities each individual seeks.

We are of one clan, as of old, and regardless of that we aim to support any matari.

This news saddens me.

Amarr truly is an enlightened society. In the Empire, everybody who puts in an honest day of work gets a full day of food. This could not be said of the average worker even in the Caldari State prior to the rise of Tibus Heth. And this can surely not be said of the Minmatar Republic.

During my short stay in Imperial space, I have been invited to many Amarrian estates. The slaves there are well taken care of and treated decently. It is true that this is not always the case, but is anyone's life perfect? The trials and tribulations we face, as master or slave, are sent from God to strengthen and teach us. The lot of the slave is to learn grace and endurance, and to put aside the desires of the ego to serve a greater purpose. What will be the purpose of these freed slaves in the Republic? To wander from day to day without work, shelter, or food? To starve and become addicted to drugs? To falter from the path of enlightenment, the path to God? Electus Matari has done these people a great disservice, and for a self-righteous purpose, not a noble one.

Although the Executor can be credited with much, putting food on the table of the working class is not one of them -- for the simple reason that it was there already. Before the new political order, there were systematic problems and inequalities that badly needed resolving, but it has never been the case that the "average" worker was living on a starvation diet.

Of course - they were fed exactly enough to keep working.

As may also be said for the situation of many captive slaves, Ms. Xuixien. I don't doubt that many slaves within the Empire are adequately provided for. And I am sure that many holders are humane individuals, at least according to their own convenient and possibly unexamined standards of morality. But not all Holders are so humane. To say so would be to deny human nature. Whatever the society, there are always unscrupulous individuals who will take advantage of other people in order to further their own selfish ends. People who will abuse and exploit other people to maximize their own comfort and gain. We can only pity the plight of slaves who are in the power of such an amoral individual. They are no doubt being used as mere components in a well-calculated equation to minimize costs and maximize gain.

That said, I appreciate your argument that a stable life with sufficient nourishment can be better scrabbling to survive within a laissez faire society. It is true, life in a highly competitive can be an intense struggle, on an ongoing daily basis. It may indeed be better to live under the control of a beneficent and enlightened Holder than to starve in the streets. But we cannot count on every Holder being beneficent and enlightened. As long as there is one slave who is being abused-- or as long as there is even the possibility of a slave being abused-- we have to assume that a free life is better than an enslaved one.

Empty rhetoric based on naive ideology. If one slave is abused, that is unfortunate. But to condemn millions of Matari to a life of poverty and addiction because of that one slave? That is tragic.

Let us test your logic, then: now that these "unwillingly freed" slaves have been so forcefully liberated, I am curious to see how many of them return to the benign subservience they underwent at the hands of their Holder masters. They are now "free" to do so.

I am sure the border patrols would welcome freighters full of "willing" slaves -- though I cannot imagine this is a sight they are much used to seeing.

You're threat falls upon deaf ears. The Empire will bring justice to those there perpetrated these acts, and the victims shall be returned to their homes.
