I'm currently looking to get myself a telescope, a novice one for viewing stars, planets, hopefully asteroids too. I've been reading up on models and makes but the only store in my city sells about 4 scopes total that don't look like they're made of plastic for kids.

I'm looking for probably a Newtonian Reflector telescope, no need for a motor though and have a budget of around £200.

I'm looking at the Celestron 130EQ but was hoping some of you guys might have some experience with scopes Bear

That's not a bad starter scope. I've used it myself. Just keep in mind that it's rather largish and if you're going to be hauling it around set-up can take a bit. Similar image quality can be had with smaller scopes if the hassle is too much for you.
