I beg you, can we PLEASE GET A NEW DRONE UI!

The current one is a headache to deal with if you're an OCD neat freak like me.

Awesome stuff!

Now if only Stargates weren't on the opposite side of the system in relation to the route... Oops

Bravo, it's looking really slick. I'm loving the visible warp route. I often have a little trouble finding it though, even if I look in the direction the stargate is pointing (I often have to look both ways cos I can never remember which way some of the stargates fire). It makes me wonder if it sometimes fails to render. this is intermittent and may just be me being blind.

The collapsible widget system is wonderful, I really hope we see this technology implemented elsewhere. Perhaps the Planetary Interaction UI and even the overview in some way?

One thing I think would be intuitive to include in the autopilot menu is a manual 'set destination' entry field. The current radio buttons etc. are great for managing an existing autopilot route, but there doesn't seem to be any logical way of setting up a new route without opening other UI elements to 'right click - set destination', which once again starts using up screen real estate.

Very rarely do I like everything in a dev post, but this all seems awesome and incredibly useful for everyone!

Can't wait to see it implemented!

'Show route path in space' shows the way to the future!

Ummer or how it could look, as a couple of people have also indicated the fact that the stars in the background are 'real' should be made more use of in the future.

Currently the star map, solar system map are very awkward to use and map browser is almost useless. Imagine if on the hud to the left next to the tactical overlay button there was enable map features... Then when enabled all the 'World Map Control Panel' features could be overlaid in space. While in this mode it would be great to be able to zoom out and highlight the solar system view, constellation, region and universe view then back again. Darn even if things like scanner probes could be moved around then it would actually feel like scanning in space or if we could see the directional scanner sweeping through space in the direction we are scanning.

This would actually make using the map a pleasurable experience as well as contributing to the emersion of being in space.

Looking forward to more :)

I've been sitting here with "Show route path in space" selected, switching the autopilot between "Prefer shorter" and "Prefer safer". It is a wondrous experience to be able to really see the difference. Bravo.

First, I'm agree with the voiced opinions that those panels would be better implemented as movable windows and/or accessed via neocom instead of icons which permanently stuck on the screen. Now few little suggestions for autopilot:

Autopilot panel has been around for a couple of years but I (don't know how widespread this is) still can't get used to one aspect of those colored boxes: where is start of the route and where is the end? It's supposed to be obvious that writing direction from right to left is used but for some reason it's always confusing at the first glance. So what about adding eighter "Next" and "Dest" labels to make it easier to get direction (Fig. A.1) or an icon of spaceship at the beginning of the route to denote current position (Fig. A.2)? Or replacing boxes with the arrows (Fig. A.3)?

Another feature that will help traders remotely manage their orders and query regional prices would be a way to see region boundaries on the route like it is shown on the Fig. B.1 (looks better imho) or Fig. B.2 (probably would be easier to implement).

Also, looking at the mockups of future panels it looks like you are aiming for quite high degree of customizability so it may be worth asking for an option to hide constellation information from autopilot route and current location panels (show "SYSTEM SS < REGION" instead of current "SYSTEM SS < CONSTELLATION < REGION")? I play EVE for 9 years and can't imagine why one would be interested in constellation info (maybe for incursions only?) while hiding it will improve interface clarity.

That, is very very sexy.

I particularly enjoy A3 + B1, and it'd do wonders for me.

It'd do even MORE WONDERS if there was a colour bar on top of the regional/system for faction!

All hail not just appearing in arbitrary locations! Big smile

Now just put system bookmarks in that system location entries panel and I will be a happy wormholer indeed.

Please provide an option to disable all, if not, most of it.

It takes up space needed for more useful UI elements like watch list, fleet window, cargo, local etc. This can be very frustrating in PvP. Especially for players who don't have large monitors.

If that's what you want, just collapse everything, leaving just the icon strip at the top.

thanks!

One of the most important things you guys could do to make this really come together for me would be to make the info panels (and thus solar system info, etc.) be movable to the right side of the screen, same as the neocom. Some of us have become accustomed to having our overview on the left side of the screen... at least on some windows: I play with windows overlapping the middle of a large screen and want to be able to see both overviews and locals, but currently I have to minimize the overview on the left hand client if I want to so much as look at the autopilot breadcrumbs.

It's a pretty simple and unifying feature to implement; if you could make this happen I'd be ever so pleased.

Are the "Show info" windows included in the "Info panels"?

Because if it's so, please let them be shift clicked like in the past to open a new instance, industrialists need to see multiple BPOs / BPCs open to read the sub-components and compare the stats.

Fantastic improvements and new features.

This is the kind of stuff that really makes EVE an awesome MMO.

So many just ignore things like UI improvements and features.

I'm very much looking forward to these.

Sorry Devs, but the secret about stars, was not secret for me :) I knew it was real solar systems in the background, then they first appeared with the new background. How? Then you are near stargate, and it's "teleportation beam" (don't know how it's called) shoots straight to the next solar system. And it's in every stargate.

Cool stuff by the way!
