I found that the EVE client wouldn't patch at all, so I'm attempting to download it fresh and do a reinstall. I was able to download the 4.20 mb executable, but the payloads 1 and 2 don't seem to want to download at all?

I have this same problem. Been struggling with it the last two days now and I can't seem to get ANYTHING to work Sad I have tried on two different computers with two different operating systems even.

I recently had the same problem until I downloaded a VPN program called "Hotspot Shield" off cnet... It did the trick and allowed me to download the two payloads at a decent rate. I would suggest uninstalling afterwards because it is annoyingly ad-supported.

Hotspot Shield seems to be working, but you're right about the advertisements. CCP, I was surprised that I had to resort to anything other than a normal download this time? Previously, I would set the download for the night, and then install the next day, but this time, after the failed update, I couldn't download at all until I got the suggestion for the special application here.

If someone can please link the md5 checksum of a valid and working copy of the Installer, as well as Payload 1 and Payload 2. I have a copy of them downloaded already that says they are complete (each file is over 2.3gig in size), and they pass validation during installation, however when the installer goes to do the file extraction phase, it fails.

That's what I'm finding as well. Corrupt downloads on the server?

CCP seems to be having internal corruption problems. I tried going through what you are having problems with and are too unable to get passed the extraction phase of the installing. Kind of bummed, I don't have a solution for this one. Cry

Chris, I do appreciate the suggestion of the VPN, however, that was a good one! But yes, somethings up and beyond our power to get fixed. CCP will have to open the door to a working client for us.

I just redownloaded the two payloads via the VPN and the installer appears to be working, it got thru the extraction phase without a problem. The key is to make sure the files are complete, as in one is the full 2.7gb and the other is 2.6gb. I'll keep you posted if anything goes haywire.

I recently had an issue downloading and installing, but the issue didn't seem similar to this.

After doing countless things to try and fix this, as well as restoring my computer to see if it was just something on my computer I may have missed, I found this thread.

I was successful in downloading, patching, and logging in to EVE by having the mentioned VPN installed and running before using the .exe to begin download/installation.

I'm not quite sure what it is that made it all work, as I'm not very fluent when it comes to using VPN software.

Thank you very much for helping me get back into playing EVE after four days of struggling with downloading.

EDIT: I did not need to download payloads separately, I just needed to run the .exe file and it began downloading everything automatically.

Just a follow-up. I was finally able to download the entire payload using Firefox's 'DownThemAll' addon. I used it in conjunction with the Hotspot Shield VPN, and finally was able to install the EVE client.
