How to upgrade new alt account with PLEX?

Hi

I'm seriously thinking about making a third account, in part to have more self-support, but also to try all the tutorials. They were poor and limited back in March 2007 when I started playing, so I never did them. I figure if I buddy invite myself, I can get 51 days to play trials, then after that I can choose to let my third account go dormant until I want to resume using it at some later point, or I can continue to pay for it.

However I won't be able to pay with a credit card this month or next, due to real world stuff, so all I can do is buy PLEX with ISK.

How can I get the PLEX to my new account? Can trial accounts accept private contracts? Or can I just transfer the ISK to the new account so he can shuttle to Jita and buy the PLEX? My understanding of the limitations on trial accounts is poor, so I'm not sure if this is doable at all.

I can arrange for a trusted third party player to trade the PLEX three-way, I log on, buy PLEX, trade to this other player, I then logon with my new account and this other player trades the PLEX to me. But it's troublesome to coordinate to happen, and there may be a slight risk, so it is not preferable.

Also, can I buddy invite to an email that already has an EVE account associated with it? I have a spare email I can use, a hotmail, but it's nice to know if this is doable for future reference.

You can send yourself a buddy invite. All that matters is that the new account has a unique account name, and that you follow the instructions on creating the account using the Buddy Invite in the first place. I prefer creating new email accounts for each EVE account so I can keep correspondence separate. As an example, notification that a petition has been handled doesn't specify which account the petition relates to, nor does it tell you the name or petition number of the petition. So having the same email address for a number of accounts means you'll have a rough time figuring out which petition has been closed :\

I have created a number of trial accounts using PLEX, from memory I have trade-windowed the PLEX to the new account.

Alternately, drop the PLEX in a can in space, then come back to it with the other character. This requires being sensible of course: don't drop the PLEX in space just outside the Jita 4-4 undock, for example.

If you see me online, I'll volunteer to hold a PLEX for you if you want to log out and bring an alt back in, for what that offer is worth.

You can just send ISK to your trial character and buy PLEX. Trial accounts cant send ISK but they can receive ISK from paying accounts.

Once you upgrade your trial account, it can then send extra ISK back to your other character. (This is what I did with my 2nd account. I sent a lot of ISK to my trial char, bought PLEX and some skillbooks, upgraded with PLEX and sent extra ISK back to main.)

The easiest way is to just send the ISK to the trial and let him buy his own PLEX.

If you already bought the PLEX with your main, ways of transfering it include:

- Trade window in a station.
- Trusted third party.
- Jetcan or an abandoned ship in space.
- Corporate hangar.

I thought it was impossible to be logged on simultaneously with a paid accout and a trial account.

But as you say, corporate hangar. I can just have my new alt request to join my corp, then transfer the PLEX that way.
