When to run and when to fight - The Bible for aspiring PVP individuals

As a starting solo PVP pilot (on my main) I had the idea of creating a list about each sub cap ship's most common used PVP fits and what ship's fits they should run from and what to engage. aspiring

Once the list is complete It will be released to the public with detailed information but not limited to fitting, the strong and the weak points, best method of flying it etc...

At this moment I am nowhere even close to completion, I would say close to 20-25% done.

This is where where I'm asking for the rest of the universe help with speeding up this process by pouring their experience in this thread with informative posts to aid my effort. I will, if there's is enough feedback, filter all my findings trough the feedback and adjust them where needed.

An informative post should contain information concerning, but not limited to, a ship's solo most viable fits, their hard counters and the types of ships (with certain fits) they should engage with confidence, maybe a brief tactic for solo flying/fighting etc ....

Please keep in mind that this is intended for SOLO guidance so blob knowledge is not sought here.

There will be trolling I'm aware of that but I hope most will refrain from it and accept that once completed, this effort will enable all PVP'ers (some most than others) to become better pilots and truly enrich the overall PVP experience across the universe.

Any up to date guides on starting, advanced PVP will be welcomed and compiled in the final product.

See you in space and always fly dangerous.

Most important advice: join a corp that will tell you about the local "solo pvpers" that run with booster alts. Or just pay attention to them, and dont try to fight Lokis with T1 frigs for example. Bring your Griffin/Rook/Scorpion alt to have a fair 2v2, or just avoid those low life jerks.

Yes indeed, links are very common and OGB needs to happen asap. Getting a boosters list acting in one area of operation is something I'll leave to the individual and ignore links in the final product while offering an as close as possible general up to date guidance for setting up solo fights.

The site is cool. Tho looking at the date posted I feel some fits/tactis might be out of date. Nevertheless I'll give it a good look and see what I can work with.

Can't go wrong with running and while that never got me killed I'm trying to lower the % running and being killed at the same time.

Got 2 EVE-mails about this with some advice and support on this project. Hope info keeps looking for me at a faster pace than it is now.

What would make a helpful post : - short description of the fit / Same size strong/week against the fit / how(if) you would go about engaging one size above / whatever else of interest to the subject.

What makes a good PVPer good is the ability to go into a fight that is stacked against him and win, not an encyclopedic knowledge of which things he has an advantage against.

It's not that hard to see how the ship is fit and if you can fight it.

Scanned out 2 tengus last night in a site and decided to drop a rapier on them with backup waiting for my call. Pref NPC aggro update not a hard task.

Activated the gate cloaked up where promptly as I landed was decloaked by a rock pointed webbed and scrammed by NPC frigates in under 5 seconds.

Much hilarity ensured for the Tengu pilots.

Best tip I can ever give is : Sh it Happens especially since NPC change.

God Said "Come Forth and receive eternal life!" I came fifth and won a toaster!

Hmm I don't think you should bother trying to tell everyone what fits are best etc, it takes the fun out of personal discovery when u find a winning formula, people shouldnt be privvy to his sort of information.

It takes the mystery out of it all and before you know it every lazy ass noob are flying around with win fit ships with out putting in any effort into it them selves.

I just think you should just stick to tactics of solo PvP.

If you don't troll eve-kill for the lossmails of pretty much everyone you die to, you're doing it wrong. Secret sauce fittings aren't going to remain secret and frankly, if they require any skills at all they will take a long time to become mainstream.
