Doin level 3 security missions in my bs as follows

Apoc enters deadspace, tanks

npc's move in to attack me

Assault frigate alt account warps in and owns everything

I cant get over just how powerful these frigates are, I'm totally glad I switched my interceptor for one! it just begs the questions... heavy assault ships... OMFG

so what do you guys think...

should I move up to a heavy assault ship as soon as possible or further specialise in small weapons skills and just have a redicilously even more powerful assault frigate.

Here are what I see as the pro's and cons

Heavy assault ship:
PRO: vastly increased firepower, having a heavy assault ship, possibly solo lv 4 missions
CON: slower so it will take much longer to get all the cans, take over a month to train for

Confirming I love assfrigs as well. My assfrig of choice is the Enyo.

i have a question, if you have an assault frig, then why the hell do you need the battleship? id have the battleship switch out for anoctis and bring him into slavage afterwards, would be much more efficiant if you really insist on looting a lvl 3.

I have done something similar in the past with Level 4's, but aren't NPCs switch targets since the new patch? How can you tank them then?

Depends on what you want to do. If you want to shoot other players in the face at some point, then perfect your frig skills and work up from there. But if all you intend to do is shoot the computer then mediocre Hvy Assault skills would be more than sufficient (complete waste of the game imo though).

The drone nerf was really a secret AF (especially Enyo/Ishkur) buff.
Hard hitting, small weapons are the way to go now.

As long as the npcs have no webs you can comfortably solo level 4s in an assfrig, I used to do this with my Jaguar. It's great fun, but it will take forever to clear a room full of npc battleships.
So if you want to make lots of isks as fast as possible, I would still suggest to use a battleship for level 4s.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

The MWD Mach is my favorite assfrig. It simply spanks level 4s.

You can do missions in other ships than assault frigs? Shocked

To give a more serious answer:

I found both Amarr Hacs underwhelming for missions. They are a lot more expensive, do things only "somewhat" faster than my Vengeance and are a lot less fun. So I went back to flying my Vengeance.

Confirming that a HAC can solo L4 missions similarly/better than a battleship, for double the cost.

The correct terms are ASSAULT SHIP (tech 2 frigates) and HEAVY ASSAULT SHIP (tech 2 cruisers).
