I have the skills to use several systems... where are they mounted on a ship? In the riggs slot or are these for TECH 3 ships or something?

thanks in advance....

Tech 3 ships only.

Sub Systems are the modular components that determine the characteristics of the applicable Tech3 cruisers. (Not to be confused with Tier3) The different choices made when you set up the ships sub set out things like bonuses, weapon hard points, pg/cpu. The subs can the be interchanged like any other fitted item and completely change the role of the ship. But it all comes at a price. Not only are T3 expensive to setup and fly, but if you lose the ship you lose skill points as well.

I wish I could fill rig slot of my ship with a thing that provides +50% armour hitpoints, equivalent of 3-4 hardeners with no stacking penalties, two additional lowslots and the like. Or something along the lines.

I would train that without doing further research too.

Though I feel that poster above is right.

Thank you to all whom answered my question.

A while back a Corp mate of mine gave me the (2) skill books and since it only takes minutes to train to level 1 I put them in my skills. We all play the game the way we want to and for the longest time I wasn't too obsessed with a long range goal as far as skill training went. Things change with time and I was doing a skills review last night of my character so I was wondering about those skills and systems.

I mostly mission run, rat with frigates (for fun) and salvage in the game. I've pretty much trained up to Tech 2 on all weapons systems (turret and launchers) from large on down, shield stuff, propulsion and targeting. I’m interested in doing incursions so I’m now focusing my training to run a Tengu someday.

That said, Tengu isn't the best ship for incursions.
Even though people will take them in fleet sometimes, preference goes to turret battleships. As far as T3s go, Lokis and Legions are more welcome (both in shield and armor fleets).

Missile ships are bad in incursions.

Don't defend them, turret ships actively laugh when they see missile ships.

How about the Rokh for a turret battleship in incursions? I can mount tech 2 rails or blasters...

Rokhs don't get in decent fleets. They want pimpboats - nm, bhaal, vindi, mach, etc. Failing that, get a Mael, it's much more likely to be accepted than Rokh.

A cheap boat to get in decent fleets is navy geddon, pack a flight of 5 sentries in addition to light/med for 1300 dps. At only ~70 mil higher than Mael/Abaddon, it gives excellent gank per isk, and is the minimum most pimpfleets will accept. Isk/hr gap between pimpfleets and noobfleets can be quite large, so try to get into the former whenever possible.

True, but people sometimes even accept Ravens, then try to shoehorn them into HQ structure gring and whatnot - something they don't completely suck at. Sad sight though.

QFT, though you can still try with your Rokh. True, good fleets won't probably accept it, but some will, and at that point your income will probably be better than many other things you can do in hisec with your ship.

Upgrading to something pimp (in your case Nightmare will probably be shortest train) will definitely improve your performance and your ability to get into fleets. First modules to pimp out then are webs (the rule is pretty much "Federation Navy or similar or GTFO") and damage mods. Everything else is pimped if you can save slots by doing that (for example, upgrading tank rigs and some modules can free up a slot previously used for tank for damage in case of armor ship or tracking/whatever for shield ship) or if you have too much ISK (at some point it will be the case if you don't have better ways to spend incursion income).

Oh, and I think I don't have to remind you that you should treat your pimp boat (once you will have it) with care while moving from incursion to incursion and whatnot - pirates won't be sleeping Blink

T2 guns help a lot, but only required in higher-end communities/fleets. Others will be fine with meta4s.

I trained and bought the Gallente Bomber (can't even remember its name) Shocked because it looks nice.

I have absolutely no idea how to use one.

I flew it for about 10 minutes in total just to look at it.

I bought the new Caldari destroyer becouse I like the U-boat look. It's like a mini Drake...LOL

I pimped it out with all T2 stuff and it's actully a nice little ship. It blows through level II misisons and is fun to rat in.

Me too, but the problem is I already have a caracal for that role, or a hawk if i want something smaller.

But since I have bought it, I'm using for ratting and gang PvP. Not the most optimal ship for it, but is fun anyway.

Obvious stuff because it's obvious:

Train all cruisers at 5

Train all subsystems/strategic cruisers skills

Train all medium guns up to spec 5

Train those core skills on top for Cruiser/Battlecruiser sized hulls

After this you can laugh at balance and just pick whatever the omgfckinpwnmobile is the best at the moment.

10/10 however Lol

Can someone briefly explain as to why you lose SP when you die in a Tech III ship?
