So the pirate rookie frigates look like great orbital bombardment vessels. They only get one turret slot, but it does 100% extra damage. This could mean that they would make mean bombardments for their size.

that makes the equivalent of 2 turrets. use a destroyer

Can't you only use one turret at a time when you bombard? If you can use more, then I agree with you.

What I love is that scan strength bonus. Oh jeebus, I wish, wish, WISH there was any other T1 hull with a scan strength bonus that wasn't a frigate. I'd kill for a Destroyer with a scan bonus.

Nope you can use as much as your ship can fit, and for now, skills and damage bonuses mean nothing.

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Sometimes when I post, I look at my sig and wish that I'd follow my own god damned advice.

ouch, then in that case it would be only one turret's damage

So if you fire with 6 turrets do you do 6 turrets worth of damage or one?

The damage on the ground is the same regardless of how many turrets you use or what your skills and bonuses are.

Within the context of DUST not really. DUST is still very beta-y. In EvE yah there'd be a threadnought on it and people shooting at monuments. In DUST people are more concerned with bunny-hopping, graphics/frame rates, and about a zillion other issues.

These look like they'll be one-time limited edition ships. Cry I just noticed the OP found them under Limited Edition Ships folders on the test server.

I am also a human, straggling between the present world... and our future. I am a regulator, a coordinator, one who is meant to guide the way.

Yah... but we're talking test server too. Honestly, I've been following spaceships for a while now and I honestly think there's only a few people at CCP who even know what ships go in what category. The database category's mean nothing to them. At all. One thing to note too is that there is no "market" category for rookie ships. I mean, these faction rookie ships could easilly be reclassified as frigates.

I'll give you a good example: The Apotheosis. Lets take a walk down memory lane: The model started out as the SOCT1 frigate, a ship that still exists today under the T1 frigate category. Then they issued it as a shuttle. Then they put it on the market as a frigate. Then it was a special edition frigate... a category it's still in today despite it being a shuttle and there being a "special shuttle" section for it now.

CCP just isn't concerned with labels. Maybe it'll be a one-time issue thing, maybe it won't. What I can say is that the category it's in on the test sever isn't the deciding factor. In fact... it's not a factor at all.

For that matter, in the name of "cleaning up the market" they moved non-capitals (ships that do not require nor are affected by capital skills, are able to use jump gates, are able to enter high-sec, and are able to built in high-sec) into the capital ships category, confusing countless newbies that don't know better (and even some oldbies.)

If you are referring to freighters, I think of it not in terms of what the actual capabilities are, but what they look like in space. The way I would categorize ships would be broad... T2, T3, Faction, and T1 cruisers would all simply go under the heading "cruisers", for example. Freighters are huge. I've always considered them capitals, even if they can't jump and can use gates. I mean... you can jam 16 BS into a freighter....

Those rookie frigates have life of 14 days or month as far as I know/was told.
So only rookie can use it or something like that.
Anyone can confirm that?

I can confirm that this isn't true. They will be in your hanger as long as you leave them there.
