I have just recently switched from Ubuntu to Fedora (wanted to try something new).
On ubuntu I have running game on wine 1.4...
Here on Fedora I was not able to find wine 1.4 anymore, so I tried to install it on 1.5.18. From what I found I shouldn't need those dll overrides anymore, so I have only d3dx9_36 set to native. Launcher seems to be fine but the game doesn't start. I think I already experienced something like that in the past but I don't remember how to solve that and I'm not able to find it.

Fedora 17
Wine 1.5.18
graphic card Intel (this is laptop that wasn't supposed to work with linux and have nvidia graphic card that doesn't work with any drivers I found so far but on ubuntu it is ok so I suppose that it shouldn't be a problem)

launcher ok, game doesn't start, no error message, glxgears works fine ... No idea where could be the problem.

Can we get the output of glxinfo pasted some where? Also have you install the nvidia binary driver? (fedora doesn't do that by default) Have you install the various winetricks stuff?

I used http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Install_EVE_on_Linux_with_Wine so to winetricks, I used
winetricks corefonts d3dx9_36 vcrun2005 vcrun2008 vcrun2010
but later remove those msvc... at wine configuration

for nvidia drivers... I've and up reinstalling my OS more than three times when tried to make it work... So I'm no longer befriending that part of my computer. Intel works fine enough for me...

and there is what I have from glxinfo:

No need to reinstall your OS when things don't work. Just need to get things fixed. First of all you should be looking through the documentation and forums of Fedora and find entries regarding Nvidia optimus.

Anyway here is a possible start. It was the first hit on Google.

I too am having this issue. I followed the directions to the letter, am running last Mint, of a Cinnamon flavor.
I finally gave up on windows today after it destroyed two of my hard drives.

Which issue exactly?
