Navy Domi, for sleeper ratting?

I have a friend that wants to go ratting in a WH, I have never done it myself so I don't know how to help him fit his ship, or if it will even do the job. So some advice I can pass on to him would be welcome.

He has a Navy Domi he thinks would make a good platform for the job, but unfourtunatlly I am clueless on this aspect of eve.

It really depends on the class of the WH you are wanting to do. A BS sized ship will not fit in a c1 WH, however a BS can enter a c2 WH and above.

Now i'm going to say why use a BS when a drake will get the job done fine, however if you friend wants to use a Navy Domi (i'd use sentries as sleepers hate drones) in a class 2 or 3 WH i'd say go for it.

A word of warning however, he may want to use the google search function to use the eve survival guides on what he is expected to tank (and watch out for the triggers)

Good luck,

... and of course watch out for the homies. When they are home. And we usually are :-)

I can confirm that a navy domi works well inside a C4 but just ensure you have sufficient tank. In a C4 I like to have 3 or more friends to remote rep me since you can potentially be soaking 1000dps if you get full aggro.

As others have said, sentry drones are basically the only way to go because normal drones will be targeted and killed before you can recall them.

Fit a few omnidirectional tracking links to help with the tracking speed and carry gardes for the up close work and bouncers or curators for long range. I also carry some disposable warriors in case a frig is scramming me and I need an emergency gtfo.

Shield fits work quite well because it leaves space for DDAs in the lows.

Would you recomend an ASB fit or stick with local reps and cap boosted tank?

Well, to be fair, it started out specifically about sentry drones and then evolved into discussions on the Dominix. But yes, that thread is worth a look op.

Since I have only done C4 which cannot be run solo I rely on remote shield repping from other gang members and then rep them in turn (depending on who has aggro).

For sites that can be done solo I would suggest talking to someone else since my gut would say attempt to create a cap stable active tank with high resists but I know that sleepers will neut which could be a serious problem in that case. As for the ASB, it's great so long as you have cap charges but they might run out.

Yeah I guess making cap boosters in a WH is not going to be anyones priority, and if your not using navy boosters you might as well not use any at all.

OK well between this thread and the sentry drone thread I think I have a fair idea.

In all honesty if you are just day tripping into WH's I would NOT suggest using a BS, especially if you are new at it. Even for some WH vets it can be a pain trying to judge how much more mass a hole can take through it, and getting trapped on the other side will not end well even if you have a probe. If you are doing c1-3 you can get away with using two battlecruisers, preferably drakes because of the shield resist bonus with it. Just make sure they both have large shield remote reps, and are remotely cap stable.

This. Domis are mostly used by locals, you really should take a BC for this and loosing a Navy Domi + pod can be ... frustrating ya' know Cool
