EvE's now is far behind the "schedule" that players would like to see, nothing awe inspiring got made past Apochrypha.

This is why I'd like to rate Apocrypha as the worst EVE expansion ever. It did so much to raise player expectations about how much CCP could achieve in so little time, that anything else CCP does short of releasing an expansion bigger and bolder than Apocrypha will be ridiculed as "a few timers" or "a graphics update".

What happens if CCP comes up empty and its left to players how to fix things? Is waiting for CCP to act a good idea?

For the sake of sounding like a complete wacko, I'm going to say what I think CCP needs to do to inject some life into EVE.

Give high sec a small form of sov control in the way of station control. Nothing overly drastic, just being able to change around how many production slots there are and refine rates as well as collect a littl tax on the activities in that station.

And null needs PvE conflict drivers that will get both small and large groups in null, shooting each other.

It sounds wacky right?

CCP needs to shake **** up a little. This whole high sec is the PvE destination and null is the PvP destination is...

I don't know what it is, but it needs to burn a flaming death.
They should start bluring the lines a little.

As demonstrated by the averted war between the CFC and the HBC, two coalitions who have been itching to shoot at each other for months, sov mechanics need to be fixed. Now. We're utterly fed up with dealing with timers and structure bashes and space that people don't care enough about to defend. We want battles, exploding ships, and goodfights, but these are becoming increasingly rare as more people get tired of the current sov mechanics.

So please, CCP, focus the summer expansion on sovereignty mechanics. I know it's a big project, but it needs to be done more than anything else and it needs to happen sooner rather than later.

What needs to happen is people like you and your allies need to stop listening to someone that just holds moons in NPC space and grow a pair and acutally fight.

This BS about sov is broke and dont want to grind HP is bullshit. CFC/HBC have done it before and recently. What has changed since then?

NOTHING.

No, we're even more pissed off about the system having gone through it yet again.

People already are trying to cope with the abundance of NIPs. NIPs are literally made because people want to shoot each other without having to engage in full war (they were first conceived because tech was hilariously cartelable and broken, but with alchemy OTEC is only a name for a group of NIPs these days)*. Some people may claim that this specific theoreticaly HBC/CFC sov war never would have happened, but I think anyone with a moderate amount of knowledge of nullsec politics will agree that there have been several NIPs in other situations between entities where there was enough animosity for a war but ultimately people sick of structure grinding elected not to do something they hate for space that isn't worth taking.

Ultimately we're going to do what we can to amuse ourself, whether that means ganking freighters in hisec or engaging in wargames now that the HBC and CFC are neutral to each other. But if CCP wants to bring Null back to its original ideal of unrestricted empire warfare, sov needs to be improved on many levels.

* Some entities may have used NIPs beforehand, definitely so on a more informal basis (providence) but I don't have knowledge of null history that far back. I only can report my observation that they really started showing up as a more formal agreement recently, after OTEC.

Back during the Cold War the USA and Soviet Union never fought a direct war, they fought through proxies. The Eve super powers of the HBC abd CFC don't want to fight a war either, but that shouldn't stop them from allowing several proxies to be permanently at full scale war. Bring back the meat shield.

I can totally understand not wanting to shoot your buddies. So, then, declare war on empire. Burn Jita seemed to go pretty well. You hate us and we hate you. (I guess.) Make it permanent.

Ganking needs to be nerfed.

It's only exploiting when you aren't using it to keep your ~freighter~ and ~mackinaw~ safe.

You know things are broken when the two biggest nullsec entities don't start the biggest war in the history of eve because of how utterly boring they know it will be.

So, we agree that it's an exploit.

The difference between us is that I am an SWA member, and only an SWA member. YOU, on the other hand, are a Goon, but you choose to tuck your tail and strike your colors for the sake of safety and convenience and call it "winning".

Exploiting a game mechanic is not the same thing as using an exploit.
One is allowed, the other is not.
