First, a little of the same advice I gave your fellow Podside contributors. Take some time to spell and grammar check your CSM candidacy post. "iTune"? "Random Capitalization Of First Letters Of Words"? "There is so much more I can bring to the table, but for the sake of Time"?

What is the rush? Why can't you spend an hour or a day carefully planning your announcement thread? No link to a website or blog?

You say you will stand for "EVE Online High Sec, Low Sec and FW", which I think you meant to include everyone in game, but you left out wormholes, where your DUST implants supposedly originated.

What are your ideas on POSes? Have you ever run one?

I'm going to be my rude self here.

I think Two your being to "namby pamby" on little stuff like no blog links, spelling, and such. All of those "points" you made about this announcement is superficial. Why not offer a outreached hand and help him privately instead of publicly screwing with his first attempt at this. I mean, I'm sure your first announcement for candidacy wasn't perfect either!

Good Luck Zion! and to the rest of your crazy bastards that want to run for CSM.

Personally I'd like to see a CSM candidate who got it right first time and didn't have to rely on someone else to help him. After all, he wants us to rely on him to get CCP to do stuff, so why should he be relying on us to help him with his candidacy post?

Also; why are so many Podside hosts running for CSM? Surely you're at least slightly aware that a large proportion of your voters are going to come from Podside listeners (especially as all of your posts are pretty mediocre), so you only stand to split your votes like this.

I would have thought that in a situation where you're asking the community to vote for you, you'd not be worried about taking time to explain why people should vote for you.

Besides, I understand that writing up CSM minutes takes hours.

As a fellow EvE player and Dust514 beta tester I can confirm the great work you have done in the Dust514 beta community. Zion has great ideas which he shares with others. He encourages pro-active criticism and discussion. He has good communication with CCP staff already. He is very approachable with ideas, suggestions and concerns.

Thank you Two Step for taking the time to help me correct some typos. This was simply an announcement that I’m running in which I wrote on my iPhone. Also ‘iTunes” is a brand name for this software that allows you to download music &Podcast & such. I’m not Apple so take it up with them about the spelling.

Ever running a POS or not should never stop me from supporting what the community wants. Just for starters fixing passwords on them would help a lot and pushing CCP to stick to their word of working on them would be my job. I am keeping an eye on your POSes thread and will watch what the New Eden Community wants.

Wait...

I thought you started eve like four weeks ago, according to all the stuff you've been saying on Twitter and Podside? (Please tell me if I am wrong about this)

Speaking as an EVE player, I would not personally vote for you.

Speaking as a Dust player, I'm appalled you have the audacity to even try running for the CSM. I like you a lot. You're a good podcaster and a pretty good dude. Speaking completely honestly : The line "Work a great deal with the community" is a load of crock. You repost news posted by CCP in other places, and then slap a ZION TCD logo on it at the bottom as if they gave you the news personally.

Hell, it's a great recruiting tool and if I was a CEO I'd probably do the same. As it stands though... I haven't seen a whole lot of actual contribution to the community as a whole from you. I can't and won't comment too much on that, because not everyone can see everything, right? Maybe you've done stuff I don't know about. (Again, tell me if I am wrong)

You'd be much better off pushing for Dust to have it's own CSM, rather than stick a representative who barely understands Eve on a community board about improving Eve. Other candidates deserve the spot far more.

I won't hide behind alts or Eve Names.

Dust people know me as "Nova Knife."

Sorry Shad. Had to do this, for your own good.

Uh, you edited my reply. If you go look, I quoted what you *had* written, which was "iTune" without the s.

Next time, I would take a little more time to write up your initial campaign post. It is often the first (and only) impression you can make on a voter.

Shocked

OP should probably focus on fixing his perceived bad rep with the DUST community before he claims to represent the DUST community.
I'm going to be blunt: I won't be voting for you.

Here is why :

I know a lot of it is just Imperfects backing up one of their dudes but still, you're not going to get a lot of love from any of the two communities when one dislikes you (?) and the other is crapping their pants at the prospect of DUST potentially causing EVE's death (EVE is dead, long live EVE).

Furthermore, DUST has not proved itself enough to deserve player representatives beyond the devs paying attention to its forums, and it certainly does not have a place on the CSM. Assuming it doesn't go down in a giant ball of fire, DUST might earn a CMM (Council of Mercenary Management?). Until then the only DUST platform anyone really legitimately can run on for CSM is the EVE side of the EVE//DUST link. That link is incredibly weak right now so it doesn't even have much of a platform.

My advice to you would be to retreat; lick your wounds (ie. fix your rep!); become someone people will vote for willingly. If you can't handle a bit of flak from the DUST forums, you don't stand a chance. If you don't post on the forums, use an actual blog (a news site is not a blog) and cross post your blogs into your campaign thread.

The CSM is serious business, and so is running for candidacy. If you don't give 110% of yourself because of :effort: you're not going to get anywhere (even Darius put some effort into scamming his votes Roll).

Unfortunately, I'm quite sure you're not going to take any of my criticism to heart so my words are probably wasted.

Good day. Straight

Edit: Just a heads up; if I didn't listen to Podside, I wouldn't know who the heck you are. That's not good.

@Ashra Miner You may want to click on a profile and see for yourself how old a Player is before making false claims (EVE Class of 2007 here).

I made a trial account a few weeks back so I may check out firsthand the NPE of this game and have made a few more since. I also challenged myself to see If I to make enough ISK to purchase a PLEX trough the 14 day trial period (without outside help Not possible). This was all to help me get ready for this campaign.

DUST 514 will be bringing with it droves of New EVE Accounts once Merc’s see firsthand the link DUST has to New Eden. In all my podcasting I always hear about how EVE not only needs new players, but that it is hard to keep them interested in the game due to learning curves, Player interaction and lack of personal direction. I want to help this process for NPE so that EVE will not only gain new players from DUST, but retain them as well.

On the other side of this you don't see everything. Here is some of the stuff I have helped the DUST 514 community with:

Tools for running an External DUST Corp (Free way)

Recruitment Forums

From May 2012 to October 2012(5 month’s) there was no Corp support for DUST 514. So we had to create External Corporation. With all the consol player’s in DUST not knowing what tools were out there on PC to help them organize and build, I had made this list and used this list while sitting in Skype with several now CEO’s teaching them about the history of EVE and helping them put together their new Corporations. Once their External Corps were up and running I created a place for them to recruit as well as pushing CCP to create a recruitment section of the forum for us. Once this Finally took place I edited the Post, but all the reply’s are still there

The War Room Forum Section

I know this came about because I chatted with CCP CMDR WANG and asked him for it for the community

DUSTUniCon

I have been bringing together DUST CEO’s & Players to meeting since June to talk about the Closed beta and compiling issues players had with different mechanics, physics, balancing and much more and then presented this feedback to CCP.

As a CSM member, you will have to be transparent and always make your opinions clear to the community.

In other words: what? Care to explain what you're talking about and why you're quoting things that people didn't say?

Also, 'Goons' is plural not possessive so you don't need the apostrophe. Probably you meant 'Imperfects are linked', although I don't know what you're talking about when you say 'Imperfects'. Also you need a space after your ellipsis (and the one you misquoted JamesCLK as saying should only have three dots).

Finally I'm kind of disappointed to see a prospective CSM candidate dismissing one of the largest groups in the game as 'trolls', implying that you've already decided to ignore everything that that section of the playerbase suggests.

There are some members of Goonswarm that do little more than troll, to prevent discussions on these forums. There are also members of that alliance that will argue the same points repedatively in attempting to stop people arguing with them. But having said that I must admit I have done the same myself mostly when dealing with those people.

I will admit I personally am not impressed by some of the candidates in this election but then I realise that as I type in the forum, I am a minority, plus I live in a wormhole so I am actually a smaller minority.

So maybe the majority of EVE will like these type of candidates, such as the one who created this thread. However to me their campaigns seem shallow and all seem to have a micro view of one part of EvE rather than the game as a while.

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!

No, I honestly think that hardly anyone will vote for these people. It's my first CSM, but am I not right that you generally get a bunch of very weak candidates posting their threads too soon, and then the better candidates show more restraint and post their threads later?

With the exception of Malcanis, that seems to be how it is working out this year.
