First, I told you so. Smile

Second, we would love to see the metrics on kill rights (sold, deaths resulting, highest price sold for, where, etc.).

CCP Punkturis showing us her pink pie (charts).... where's the link to that innuendo thread?

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

Either the kill that yielded 4 billion bounty isn't on eve-kill, or CCP got the date wrong. I don't see any kills on that date that have anywhere near 20 billion in losses, which is what would be required for a bounty that big to pay out.

I derped the date, sorry Oops

edit: it's updated now

Pretty sure it is this kill then: http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=15546874

To stay consistent, could you please use ISO8601 dates and times on the graphs? It's also a worldwide standard...

And I understand your obsession with pinkish colours, tho having a wider scale of colours on the graphs would make them more readable :)

Otherwise nice stuff :)

So, in a nutshell, another failed mechanic? I mean, based on the steady decline of bounty placements week after week, if the trend continues it'll hit a near-zero point soon. So much for bounty hunting as a profession and all that. And how many of those bounties being claimed have been absolutely coincidental? As in, killing a war target in FW that you'd be killing anyway? Bounty wasn't an incentive, in fact I'd say it's not even a factor in a situation like that.

Or am I just being a Negative Nancy? Just hard to put a positive spin on this, feels like wasted time and effort for little payoff.

Now that you've run the numbers, how many ppl have the token 100k-300k bounties from when they answered questions in the Help Channel?

We don't know the reason people placed bounties on them

Although my 100k bounty also came from the Help channel, let's ignore that for a moment and just ask how many players have a bounty of less than 1 million.

Or better yet, a graph to see the ISK values of bounties placed versus the number of bounties placed. Just doing some quick calculations of my own, the average bounty is about 9.7million. How many bounties were actually below that number?

No, you're just bad at interpreting graphs.

The decline isn't linear.

Question: When you blow someone up the payout is based on the "Pend insurance value". Is there any way to find this value for an item other than blowing it up?

what's the "I told you so" for?

That part was directed at all the people reading this thread that predicted either bounty placement of biblical proportions (IE everybody has a bounty) or complete non-interest.

I'd say things are working out nicely.

Why did you use three shades of pink for the pie chart?

And why did no one at CCP say not to use three shades of pink for the pie chart before you published it?

Three shades of yellow would have been just as much fun to decipher.

Why not 3 different colors?
Obviously someone likes pink.

I suppose that whatever the 81.076 could be argued as being a purple.

I can't seperate the little boxes of color to the right to figure out what is what, with the exception of WH space.
They're to similliar in shade for me to correlate to.

In all seriousness, could you please not do that anymore.

PS: thought that the 81 was actually null sec. Or low.
I have a new found sympathy for the color blind.

"vensentar, cyno up 200K from the pos, you are clear to jump" is the last thing he heard

well, maybe he missed the 200km part Smile

well, at least they kept it 26 days, and since we speak numbers, maybe this is a new record about the titan that lasted the least?

The multiple shades of "fabulous" aren't the issue, the issue is that the area of the legend boxes is too small to provide the eye with a good color sample to distinguish. Unless you're reading on a touch screen and can just pinch-and-zoom.

Congrats to Boom Boom Big Bounty for the biggest monocle. Cool

Nice!

But the pie chart isn't easy on the eye for colour blind or tired people :S

daaawwww - sorry! we just thought it looked so pretty!

If you ever write a book about the art of creating pie charts it has to be called 'Shades of Pink'.
