Random game crashes

Hello,
for quite some time, probably around a year or so, i'm having problems with my game client crashing.
Now about the description of the problem; game spontaneously crashes from time to time when flying in space with other people, attacking someone, mining (when mining - or someone in sight is, game crashes almost everytime), or even in a station - when looking at the ship (cpt. quarters are disabled).

The crash itself is very nasty, as it causes the game screen to tear (it's difficult to describe), sound gets weird and programs like Skype/Chrome/... (if running) crash too. Also people on Skype/Mumble hear terrible noise.

After the game crashed i used to get "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" ... so after reading a lot i tried to download older drivers for my GPU (which were supposed to be stable), but the problem prevailed, then i tried to download other "stable" versions, but nothing helped. Nowdays the message doesn't even appear (note i have the newest drivers).

Now i have to admit, i found a "solution" for this problem - if i open Starmap, i can fly without any problem, but then, what's the point of all the beautiful graphics, right?
From this i deduced, the problem will be with the ships/environment. So i played with the display settings a lot, but nothing helped.

Also i had the same problem with Diablo 3 - spontaneous crashes, but never solved it. However no other games suffered from this problem (Skyrim/SW:TFU1&2/...).

Then there's one more thing to mention - this problem started after i upgraded my PC (current PC spec is listed below). Before i did so, there was no problem at all.

Computer
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 840
GPU: Gainward GeForce GTX 460 GS, 1GB
MB: Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H
RAM: 2*2GB, DDR3, 1333MHz
PSU: 550W
HDD: WD, 250 GB
System: W7 Home Premium 64 bit

p.s.: my gametime runs out in around 2 days and i won't have time to resub for around two weeks, so i'm not sure if i'll be able to post ...

Just a random idea: Try to check the RAM of your PC. By keeping the game in map mode you reduce a bit on how many assets are being loaded into memory. Other hardware problems could also cause such crashes.

I'm not completely sure, what do you mean by checking my RAMs. Could you please be more specific?
Also i finally found a "permanent" solution for the problem - turned "Turrets & Launchers" setting off and game is no longer crashing, but what's EVE without lasers, right? :/
