The BC feels like an april fouls joke sadly, but i have wanted this ship for so many years!!

I can't help suspecting there's some sort of numerological hoax behind the BC. On the other hand, if all or even part of the video is a hoax, then somebody who is set up to access the test server would probably point it out.

The main concern with the ship being real was it had no "Requirements" tab on it.

Would be awesome if it were a 10 year present though.

Well, the Gnosis being flyable now isn't a shock.

When people were digging around for the changes in Crucible 1.5 they spotted it had been updated from being NPC only to be a flyable ship when the name was changed back in March.

Good to see the Styx and the other I've forgotton the name of are finally getting an outing as playable ships, they've both been in the game files as test frigates for years.

My guess is that the Gnosis will be a prize in an AT or similar kind of stuff. Just another iteration of 'cool sexy ships for the winners, but isn't something anyone will ever see'.

As for the pirate noob frigs, my guess is they'll be in the pirate LP stores, or alternatively that they will be changing the rookie ship stuff so that you get whatever rookie ship is associated with the faction of the station you get issues on in.

The pirate rookie ships could be a setup for something that would be very, very nice, like letting players, or at least experienced players, start new characters off in pirate factions as well as empire factions. I can see why new players should be started out in high-sec, but it doesn't really make sense that "new" pod pilots only pop up in high-sec corporations. With genetic background and upbringing completely irrelevant to your character's capabilities now it would be much easier now to introduce new "races" and bloodlines into the game than it was a few years ago.

As for the gnosis, I'm kind of mixed about it. On the one hand its core stats aren't all that good, in fact the ship is worse than the current prophecy in many regards, but the slot layout lets it get enough oomph to compensate for it and make it a pretty good ship overall. I'm just not sure that it's "good enough" to qualify as a prize for an alliance tournament or something similarly high-profile.

Frankly I'd really despise it if a ship with art that nice and such a versatile slot layout was so rare that just undocking with it was begging to be ganked.

Letting pilots start out as a pirate faction would be amazing.

Maybe an entire new expansion?

Violator and Hematos are going to have 80% webs. This alone makes these two ships very interesting.

The Gnosis is too generic (it covers everything), and has no real skill requirement..

it is a gift ship. We won't see that flown in regular combat.

The pirate ships are interesting though.

Those are sexy, especially the Violator. I love the Gallente noob ship design. I wish it was more useful.

If that were the case, CCP wouldn't have asked people to test she ship, and tbh despite being an interesting ship with interesting bonuses, I think you'll find that the viability of it is nearly nonexistent. It won't be doing anything that other ships can't already do better, so my guess is it's a 10th birthday gift.

Just in how much more work must have gone into the Gnosis, compared to the more simple frigate gifts of the past tells me that it'll be more than just a gift or a prize. I honestly think this will get seeded, but maybe on a more limited scale. I love the look of it and that of the pirate noob ships (mostly). Could this be the start of a broader expansion of new ships? We could only hope... I am hopeful, but have my reservations. What?

The Gnosis needs a range boost to be considered useful. No hull that is rare can ever be viable without range tank.

I can't really see the pirate "noob ships" being given away for free - otherwise, it will simply be a small cost to make it profitable to haul loads of them into high sec.
I can see them as cheap LP store frigates, a step below the standard faction frigate....

If you think about faction ships... for navies we have:
2x BS
2x cruiser
1x Frigate (why not moar?!)

Pirate:
1x BS
1x cruiser
1x frigate - this brings it to 2x frigates, basically the inverse of the navy distribution.

As "noob" frigs... maybe you need to turn in the appropriate noob ship + iSK + LP to get the pirate noob frig.
Which might mean if you're a Gallene pilot in a Sansha station, you'll need to import impariors to get the Sansha noob frig.
This is all speculation though... the only thing I'm fairly sure about (just using common sense) is that these frigs won't be given away for free.
