how do i fix the socket closed problem ive just started getting it in the last hour?

I've been having socket closed disconnects every 30mins since the Jan21st patch. I currently have a petition open. We switched to comcast Jan1st and that has worked fine until the 21st. I've contacted Comcast and they do not see an issue. Not sure where to point fingers at.

Started happening to me a few days ago and I'm with Verizon. Tonight it is a lot worse. Can't fly for more than a one or two minutes and I get the message "socket closed". Took me 20 minutes to make 7 jumps because of having to restart the game!

CCP Fix the damn socket error issues. I can not even play this game because everytime I log in for more than 5 minutes I get the socket error. I often get it while in character selection screen. It's not my ISP or anything as there are multiple pages on the forums about this and you only reply once with a complete BS response. Get a Dev to look into this or make this a sticky at least to show that you are paying attention to the thousands of us out there.
I have had them once in a while but after this last patch on the 21st they have been so frequent that it is virtually impossible to play. I will go play something on steam if this frustration continues.

I'm also have "The socket was closed" error messages right after I insert my username/password information.
I don't even get to see the character selection screen.
I'm having this issue since the January 21st patch, and I couldn't log-in ever since. Ugh
My training will be over soon, and I won't be able to start a new one. Sad

have it since november 2012!!!!

cant be in eve on this computer longer then a few minutes. then double window socket closed.
im from germany and heres my tracert. clearly level3 routers are dropping the packets!

this was never an issue before. this client become suddenly super-sensitive for a lost package = socket down.....

interestingly on another computer at my friends place i can game fine. ISP is vodafone LTE and it wont route over level3 **** to reach london and ccp servers. not a single error there in many hours....


could ccp pls send an freaking angry letter over to level3 ops to fix their ****** routers already?????

I just had this issue occur multiple times in the space of an hour while attempting to fight in the massive lowsec fight tonight in Asakai. I would get multiple Socket Closed error windows and the client would crash.

The most disturbing thing however, is the part where the issue would knock out my internet access. I ran the network troubleshooter included with Windows 7 and it informed me that a DNS server was not responding. I had this issue for several minutes until it resolved itself and I was able to access the internet again.

This is an ongoing problem for me as well. Very frustrated with both clients disconnecting more than 6 times each in a couple hours today. Every other game, and web service is working properly except Eve.

Tears will be shed and pants will need to be changed all round.
