Hello fellow EVE Lords (and any dust bunnies who may be hanging around). I've done a very small amount of writing in the past, much of which has regrettably never seen the light of day. In an attempt to improve my writing, I'd like to share with you my latest short piece, a less than 1000 word recount from the perspective of Cpt Skybound here.

The full piece can be found here, though I'll leave a little preview below.

Quote:
The final jingle sounds as my systems automatically analyse the signal. Simultaneously they produce a suitable 3 dimensional reference point for the map and warp drive locus. A solitary wormhole leading into J-space - filled with sleepers. With careful fluidity in movement I move my scanning ship into the horizon of the wormhole, arriving safely on the other side. Within seconds, the probe launcher fires up and sends the core probes deep into the heart of the system. After a few minutes of careful alignment, strong signals are reflected to my probes and transmitted into the on board instruments of my Helios class vessel. Just as the entrance to this system was discovered, so too do I find the various deadspace pockets - one of which my computer identifies as a Barren Perimeter Reservoir. The rich pink and blue gas clouds loom in close proximity and appear untouched.

I carefully recall the probes, note the location of the gas cloud into my universal cartography unit and return to K-space for reshipping. With practiced efficiency I energize the engine cores of the two mining ventures and undock once more, heading out into the void...

Any and all feedback is welcome. Hope I'm in the right place. ^.^
