Now obviously , to gauage that fairly and scientifically , lets set some assumptions.
It has to be a solo activity .
It requires less than 2 bil worth of capital .
The return period is less than 1 month.

SO!
What is the most profitable and honorable business in EvE.
Manufacturing?
Mining?
Pvping?
Ransoming?
Scamming?
Contracts?
Incursions?
Mission running?
or is it newbies scamming?
or maybe its something CCP never intended ... the dark arts ...

The most lucrative career is running a large alliance with many tech moons.
Now, that job is a pretty scarce thing, and competition for that position is fierce.

Frankly, it is possible to make decent sums of ISK through many means, and like many things, they depend on the intelligence of the chair-keyboard interface.

But likely the most lucrative is trading / market manipulation.
It is one that has a high barrier to entry, a critical mass of ISK.
And it also requires a lot of intelligence of the player, and the willingness to work with spreadsheets, and usually, out of game tools (dragging API based info from Eve into your tools).

Or you can go the easy, mindless way, join a null sec alliance, and shoot anom and belt rats to the tune of 100M / hour.

I believe buying a plex with RL money and then selling it was the point.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

I would have to say anything but trading. That first list looks good. That is how you make money, doing that. Also trading is boring. Also, I think there are probably enough traders. You have to deal with stuff like arbitrage. Yikes, what does that even mean? Who wants that.
