Mr. Lander,

I just wanted to say I was very happy (and proud) to be an EVE subscriber when I read your Dblog.

Great vision, great plan, realistic yet goal oriented. Kudos.

Specifically, we have something identical to your split in designers at my aviation company and it has worked out VERY well the past few years. Akin to a creative director balanced with the RL demands. CCP Ripley and Seagull seem like great choices and again it seems like a great plan. As a player I can't wait to see EVE in the Long term. I know it will be around in the next ten years. Anything myself and EVE players can do to help. Let us know.

(WIS, 3D environments, Dust integration, economies of scale, all these are things I bet we will be talking about in a few short years as EVE is the best chance I have seen for a futuristic space vision since the original Star Trek rolled out in the 60s. - How inspiring that was and EVE is.)

Keep up the good work.

P.S. One thing I did want to say in a more constructive (yet negative tone though) about EVE ...I have heard it talked about among DEV's though before. SIMPLIFICATION. Not OVER-Simplification...but as EVE grows (the beast it is) but simplifying some tasks and the game itself to an extent, eliminating bloat....THESE will be the BIG challenges for you IMHO. Not just system complexity pushing away future gamers gloat, but CODING gloat, memory leaks, CPU/GPU demand. I recently downloaded the client from scratch the other day...5GB. Getting up there. Even for high speed that is a lot.

Anyways - If I might add a suggestion at the risk of being bold. Keep things SIMPLE at the very least for SOME PART of the game; IDEALLY - EMPIRE. People (new subscribers) can have a place to start that is NOT overwhelming and simple to do things. If they want to build their own private empire or help with someone elses (Sandbox) (AS ALL OF US DO even if we won't admit it) - then that is what WH's and 0.0 are for. They can then migrate there. Do a BETTER job of making empire simpler and you will win even more subscribers.

Cheers

I don't have anything to strive for, but it was a good blog nonetheless.

WHat do you consider playing a MMO if not waste of time?

But I would rather have CCP funnel that effort into WoD development instead of WiS..
