It's like nobody knows why doomsdays were repurposed and not nerfed

Nope. Do not miss

You appear to miss that 'single' titan.

You know how many titans there are in game now?

You have no idea just how many titans are going to arrive and DD.

It's fairly shocking how many are being rolled out monthly.

I don't know, but its more than 1 a year so i'm shocked

I may be suffering a moment of nostalgia, but i got to thinking today about the old titans, back before the DD nerf. Does anyone miss the awe and dread of the AOE doomsdays, when the entrance of a single titan onto the field was a harbinger of impending doom? Don't get me wrong I understand the nerf with the proliferation of titans now in the game, but does it seems these ships have been dimished far more than they should be? I mean aren't these ships supposed be the ultimate weapons of mass destruction in the eve universe? seems to me they've been reduced to little more than extended jumpgates now. I'm prolly talking out my rear but i miss the old rush of fear when one of these ships got dropped on my battleship fleet. Opinions people?

No.

I like having a couple of hundred useful shiptypes rather than just one.

There's the titan, and the remote AoE doomsday cyno ship.

Ahh the days of having to quad and penta DD proof your ship just to maybe survive the mass of titan DD's and if anyone in your fleet was left, you were quickly mopped up by the enemy support fleet which warped in from off grid.

No, I don't miss those days at all.

Maybe we need something bigger than Titans now?

I stand corrected.

I miss being doomsdayed by bobby atlas while in a fleet with him just because he could never quite grasp

Subcap fleet warp off > pull drones > doomsday

and just went

Doomsday > oh yeah.... drones and stuff

Titan BPOs should not have existed in game. Only BPCs should have existed.

In addtion, Titans should have required special items to build. Items that are used no where else.
That way Titan constrution could have been highly controlled.

Just setting a really high price and thinking hardly anyone would build one is kind of funny, in hindsight.

Some more points...

Titans also should have taken a lot longer to build.
Titan DD should not have been able to destroy all ships on grid, just highly damage them so the friendly fleet would have a significant advantage. Still requiring a friendly fleet is key. A Titan single handlely doing things that wasted everyone elses time is the root of the issue.

this, but we still have another thing to deal, how to limit the number of titans in the battlefield without taking the freedom to have one from players?. i mean, i could say, hey, lets put a limit of 1 titan per fleet/corp/alliance, but blob lovers would whine.

also we need a revamp in the whole super cap system. titans should be the last option in warfare, not the rule
