i stood up to a pirate.

So i was goin to do FW soon as i ewent thru the gate there was a battle course i was guna turn back as quietly as possible that didnt happen. someone warped me. and wanted 200 million.

i said **** you. and ended the convo with a smile :)

sure i lost my pod and ship but i t was worth it

Because even if you paid the ransom they'll probably kill you. I would. Why not? The pirate will probably never see you again anyway, lots of pirates don't honor ransoms, and you never know what the piñata will drop.

Because even if you paid the ransom they'll probably kill you. I would. Why not? The pirate will probably never see you again anyway, lots of pirates don't honor ransoms, and you never know what the piñata will drop.



isnt that a violation of some pirate code or something? i always heard if you r a pirate you honor your ransom price. but then again it seems highly unlikely

I dont know wouldn't you like money the second time you grabbed a pod? and the third? and the fourth...? and the fifth? or would you just like the killmail that means nothing in game except that you grabbed a pod by chance whether it was expensive or empty and suddenly have word spread you dont honor and you never get a single isk again? Lol

It's more about the money than the reputation. Killing pods after getting isk for a ransom makes you much less in the long run when people hear about you. and yes word does actually spread in eve...

You don't need them... piracy isn't about "good fights" or "PvP"... it's about catching a helpless hauler on a lowsec gate and having an iteron on standby to scoop the loots. It's about running when you don't know if you can win. It's no place for heros. One of my fav fits is a drake w/ no tank, 3 disruptors, sensor boosted to hell w/ jamming drones so I can run away if anyone tries to fight back.
