Ultra light EVE client for tablet

I have seen a couple of old locked threads on tablets / iPads, so I have decided to create a new discussion because I did not sse this addressed.

I travel a lot and I am unable to logon every day, however I like to remain involved with the community and contribute to it. I can't bring my PC with me and I am not going to buy an ultra expensive laptop for CCP. Also I am not going to bring with me two laptops: work and personal... but I bring my iPad.

On the other hand there is the big fact that tables and smart mobile devices are taking over PCs. Since I bought my iPad Mini with cellular I barely use my PC. The only reason keep using it is to play EVE.

If you want to keep up with the quick and radically changing landscape you need to accept that people want to play but not necessarily on a PC.

I think that a very light version of an EVE client for tablets would make a lot of people happy and would show a lot more users online, making things more fun BTW. Not for the graphical features but the social stuff.

Right now I use Neocom on iPad, which is great, but I need something a bit smarter than that with the additional features / abilities that allow me to interact with the rest of the community. Something like these:

- Send / receive IG mail messages
- Text chat on multiple channels
- Manage buy / sell orders
- Marketplace including buy and sell
- Manage assets
- Manage fittings including the ability to fit a ship
- Admin functions: corp management, character skill queues, implants, etc

This way I can keep an eye on the community and be connected all the time. If there is a need for help, my mates can count on me, either for moral support and advice or perhaps I can logon into the PC and join a fight with my ship.

See the value?

I dont have a tablet but I think this is a great idea. Like the smartglass app that microsoft just released. Cant be all that hard to code either.

This is what the CREST API wants to eventually enable third parties to do (with some limitations to avoid, say, bots spamming the market with buy/sell orders). This was all discussed at the CSM meeting :)

I(Pad) support this!

If possible I'd like the ability to fly ships on an iPad, Even if I had to accept that I could only play in systems with few players.

Even just the sound and sight of lasers hitting some rats would brighten up this hotelroom.

CCP, Hire me to make a light-weight client entirely from html, css, javascript and webgl.
You already know this is possible.

Would not be able to handle fleet battles and such, but would do well for managing station stuff and simple travel, mail and communication.

With a stable tank someone could even use it to run a mission.

Needs to be Android and Ipad both.

And make it so the interface can be scaled down for Iphones and android phones too.

Population online effectively goes up. Very nice.
