Also, I always liked his film "Black Rain" where he used Japan to show our world getting similar to "Blade Runner"

Nope, totally NOT a still from Blade Runner. Nothing to see here, move along.

Surrender is still your slightly less painful option.

You probably fail to see irony in the traffic signals in "Blade Runner" that do say "Move along. Move along".

Such small angry minds anymore it's pathetic.

ok, but to be fair, while China overtook the US in 2009 as the top producer of CO2 emissions as a =country= the US is still 4 times worse than China per capita.

per capita: CO2 Emissions, Waste generation, CO2, Nuclear waste... United States is either a podium finisher or honorable mention <-wiki article, no sources cited. but necessary to my soul to offset the misleading representation of the original picture

the US is driving the bus to hell

No. Maybe it is you who are poor at it....or who fails to realize it's a bad idea to attempt it in print.

Their per capita is over 4 times the US so that's a convenient number to make up fun facts and skew data. Our air is still much cleaner. Period.

Me neither.

Just puzzled why someone would post 'sarcasm' and fail, then blame the reader for mis-interpretation.

Not taking responsibility for one's actions (posts) or saying "Sorry you didn't get it" and instead accusing "You don't understand sarcasm" which is a gigantically broad and mis-informed assumption, is just another example of the egotism buffed up by this Age of Self-Entitlement.

As well as you calling me a small angry mind, egotistical, and self-entitled are misinformed assumptions on your part.

Whether I fail at sarcasm or not is open to interpretation. In your opinion, I failed, and I tried to make a little fun of that opinion.

To me, you seem like a closed minded individual with a poor sense of humor. Why is it my fault if you don't get it? I do take full responsibility for making that post. Are you going to take responsibility for the posts you make decrying the horrors of the Age of Self-Entitlement as you put it?

I could point out that you misspelling misinterpretation and misinformed are examples of your self-entitlement. But then, unlike you, I'm not as nearly full of myself.

Surrender is still your slightly less painful option.

Because you typed the words. But you'd say the same if you told a joke and someone didn't get it. AND declare their 'failure' in print.

Yes, I typed the words, that is correct. I still stand by them.

You didn't think the joke was funny or didn't get it. That is your problem, not mine. If you felt it was in bad taste, that is on you as your sense of humor may be different then mine. if you didn't get it, that is still on you as you may not have the same reference point as me.

Now, if everyone in the thread as complaining, then, maybe I would consider it.

I did understand your comment about the traffic signals. I have watched both the Theatrical release and the Director's Cut many many times. That scene was most likely in the back of my mind when I wrote the comment.

You, in my opinion, complained about it and made it an example of a self-entitled small mind.

I made fun of that, or at least tried to.

I feel that you are the small self-entitled angry egotistical mind as you still go on about it and how I am doing all this in print. As if that really means anything to me.

As to why I still continue to response...... I don't know, maybe because in same strange way, you amuse me.

Surrender is still your slightly less painful option.

except not. did you look at the last line of the first link, it says "the US is 4 times worse than china per capita." (that means per person)

I reject your picture. I reject the implication that Beijing and China is a global pollution monster. it's the US.

that picture is more subjective than you think. the distance of the shot isn't clear, neither is the lens, or the exposure, or the time of day (smog is worst in the morning). there's no guarantee the image wasn't digitally altered. it was either by photographer skill or digital contrast adjustment that makes the woman's face the brightest part of the image... the very brightest part of her face has full screen brightness, and is not a coincidence.

your post belongs in National Enquirer. you have been demoted.

Do you not know what per capita means?

China still leads the world in pollution. You are not allowed to divide it up in a billion little bits to make some asinine political point to browbeat Americans. It is still pollution, it still affects not only the planet as a whole but the daily lives of people forced to suffer with it.
