First Trips To Low Sec

Well I've finally started to venture out to lawless space and to be honest.... I LOVE IT!!

I'm only ratting at the moment and try to build my awareness and evasion experience up. But it's so much more fun than high sec.

My first venture was silly and unplanned as I was mining in 0.5 in my procurer and decided to go to the next system which was 0.4. I checked stats on the map and it seemed quiet and when I warped in there was only one pilot in local. I went to a belt starting mining and scanning. Feeling pretty nervous which is a strange feeling in video games.. Genuine worry off losing something and just the unknown I guess. Then some rats appeared and my hob 2's started shredding them but then.... I forgot to scan for like a minute..someone else had warped in out of nowhere, scrammed me and blew me to bits.. I made sure I was aligned before the end and warped my pod out of there. Wow I thought this is tough.

Undeterred I thought I'll fit some merlins and go back not worrying about mining but just exploring belts taking out the odd rat if I could. I was in 0.4 for about 3 hours straight. The fights with rats were tough in the merlin, which made it more fun than running lv2's in my cruiser etc. Plus I had the excitement of being hunted. Watching ships close in on the scanner and wrapping to a safe spot to then go to another belt etc. it was great fun.

Well anyway I'm fairly new to EVE and have been in hi sec for all my time and started to think I'm getting bored of this game. Low Sec saved the day. This is what the game is really about.

Bit more time developing my skills and then to engage in some PVP, Null Sec and maybe some FW.

Anyway wanted to share my good time in eve and hope any newer players give it a try too, trust me hi sec is only the beginning.

Any newish players wanting to do this message me in game if you would like to fleet up...

LOL

Yeah. That's a good idea. Noobs should fleet up with strangers and go to low sec.

You're post holds as much water as a strainer. You are clearly an experienced player, frustrated that no one goes out to low sec solo so that you can kill them, trying to trick noobs into stupid moves, so you can pad your kill board stats.

I started my life in low sec with 250k sp. I have been to 0.0 and you couldn't pay me to go back. Low sec is the best sec. Your always on your toes, always the possibility of certain destruction...sometimes you get to be the bringer of destruction....if your near faction warfare there are always pvp oportunites....to me its like living in the Wild West...no rules, no laws, full out outlaws but you get to live free, fly dangerous and die fast in a fireball just to do it all over again...Low sec for life....

lol OK knowing eve it could seem like that but thats not the case. I'm a 5mil SP who has never done pvp only been blown up a few times, who was getting bored with the game and who would like to meet some similar level players wanted to explore.

So you are clearly mistaken!!

A little harsh.

Though I was struck by the fact that he had safes in a system he just wandered in to.

I always make them midwarp when I enter a system. As long as I don't get blown up by a gate camp, and if I escape a gatecamp, even more important to make a safe on the fly!

+1 OP

next time, go 3-4 systems deep, if you really want to experience lowsec in peace. once you get a few jumps from high, you might see 1 or 2 people an hour, at the most.

see? people like you make eve suck and all the noobs scared of low.

if there's a time to go into low is when pilots are new to the game, no implants and cheap clones... fleet up with strangers, get ganked, lose nothing and have fun.

Wow I can't believe all of the negative doubters in these forums....

I wrote a post because I had a really good time in the game and wanted to share it that's all. I might come across more experienced than you think because I talk the talk (a little). But I do a bit of research (youtube, wiki etc) and advise any other new players to do the same. But knowledge isn't experience is it.

I made safe spots as soon as I entered low sec because thats what I've learnt through researching low sec.. go figure..

Anyway I got blown up again today after a good stint ratting.. Let my guard down and boom.. But gotta say even dying in low just feels more exciting than staying alive in hi. Just my opinion. Also the guy who took me out was cool, we chatted he looked at my fit and gave me some advice. We're going to fleet up in the future and hopefully I can learn more.

This post was to encourage people who feel low sec is a no go zone to get out there and have a go. It's a lot of fun simple as that. Unlike these forums. They should have a health warning for new players..

Anyway I'm going to carry on doing my thing and think twice before interacting with these forums - low sec is nicer and more fun for sure :)

Low sec is cool because you always have to be on your toes watching for pirates. Ratting in belts is always tense. You gotta be careful traveling in an industrial ship too. As a solo player there's more action to be had in low versus null sec.

The most fun I have in low is popping in through a WH and then watching a 5-6 man crew try to camp the station thinking I was just like them and docked there.

Added fun: watching another crew jumping back and forth through a gate wondering how I got in.

Gotta get those killz man for the lulz boom headshot ohhai.

Losers.

Needs updating now that the new mining frigate and gate gun changes are here, and written for those with little/no combat experience. More good tips in the replies too. Hope it helps!

The reality of Eve is that, if you don't love it like it is today, you should probobly go ahead and unsub.
