Will it have utility outside of looking very cool?

But once the novelty has worn off, will everyone turn it off as it will be clutter when trying to fight etc?

i was cloaky, spinning the sky box idly and noticed the 4 way join up of stars at the poles.
So from then on i thought the starfields are kinda random wallpaper, maybe that's changed too.

edit: Actually, OP, what happens regarding the next stargate on the route? Does the route indicator lead from your ship to the stargate? From the current system's stargate to the next system?
