what is the benefit of this feature? doesnt this take away from the whole sandbox idea, mainly pirates who carry out their deeds in highsec?

The people they destroy might not have the ability to fight back. Just like if you kick over my sandcastle you may stub your toe or I could give someone else five dollars to throw sand in your eye. Sandbox is still there but there are consequences. Plus bounty hunting is remotely viable now instead of before

Well I understand that but for 30 days? Is this meant to police ganking?

Kill rights have been 30 days for as long as I remember. As far as the purpose is concerned, it may be to make ganking riskier but definitely not to prevent it. High sec needs its gankers to remind others that space can be a dangerous place with unsavory characters

Maybe it was all a ploy to get people to stop ganking outside of jita statioion, err limit it

so....

A pirate that is fairly-well known and regularly stalks the same area could theoretically....

1. Create an alt.

2. Shoot alt with main.

3. Alt gets kill rights.

4. Alt sells kill rights, and forwards isk to Main.

5. Loop back to 2. -- many times.

Main gets ISKIES, plus MOAR targets to shoot at, that seek him or her out.

profit + profit = ???

The beauty of this is the analogy is wrong actually...

Just like if you kick over my sandcastle you may stub your toe or I could get someone else to give me five dollars so they can throw sand in your eye.

Scammers are currently selling killrights on this toon for up to 5mil, if you have paid for this service demand your money back at once.

Killing me should be for free.

You're right with selling kill rights, I hadn't taken that into consideration. My line of thought was more of making kill rights available to anyone and putting a bounty on them

If you are a pirate complaining about not being able to operate in high sec because of kill rights....you are not a pirate. You sound more like a whiny carebear wanting high sec to be more safe. Gtfo.

There's more:
1. Shoot alt with main
2. Get in ubertanked shiny ship with mwd
3. Goto tradehub
4. Sell expensive kr
5. Wait & activate mwd approaching a good, hard to bump bookmark at station(do something else with alts/main in the meantime)
6. Dock once kr is activated
7. Undock once timer is over and repeat 5

Lots of isk for near 0 effort.
