Leaving corp during a WD

Morning lads,

With all the changes to War Dec's and the such, Can Wt's still leave their corp and become neutral instantly and un-shootable?
I know they've changed it so that they cannot join or rejoin a corp for 7 days, but I thought they'd also changed leaving corps during WD's in another way also ...

thats what I thought, but when I target these people and go to attack, the new little green "safety" button doesn't let me fire whereas if it was a WT I should be able to fire as it is sanctioned isn't it

If an individual leaves the corporation, they are not a valid target. If a corporation leaves an alliance, the war dec transfers to them and continues until it would naturally run out unless the aggressor pays to extend it.

Leadership is something you learn. Maybe one day, you'll learn that.

right so thats still happens ... okay so people can WD then the wdee's leave corp until the wd is over ... that sucks even though the WDee's started the war ... no worries thanks for that

might just have to start ganking them

I think the only penalty for leaving a corp that's under war-dec is you can't join a corp for 7 days but I could be wrong.

Because apparently very few people know what the hell is actually going on yet everyone feels the need to tell you what they personally believe is going on without having any factual basis for that I'll clarify what the actual situation is.

If a character leaves a corporation during a war you are no longer a valid target from the second it isn't in the wardecced corp anymore.

However if you leave a corporation while it is at war you cannot rejoin that corporation again for the duration of the war or seven days, whichever is shorter. They can join a different corporation or even another corporation in the same alliance, but not the one they have previously left.

Obviously the 24 hour timer between dropping roles and being able to leave a corporation still applies.

In short:
If you leave a wardec'd corp. You cannot rejoin THAT corp for 7 days. That is the only penalty.
You are instantly out of the war.
You can join another corp immediately, just not the one you left during the war.

we had a guy leave one corp to an npc then join my corp
it worth noting just after you leave, your war targets will still sometimes show as flashy red in overview
also you will show as flashy red to them
all will be good if you have your safety set ... but not everybody does TwistedTwisted

Your response is entirely unhelpful and dumb. You have literally no idea what scenario prompted this question. For all we know, he was wardecced by some group that then decided to drop corp themselves to avoid retribution. It is certainly not a safe assumption that everyone who asks questions in regards to war dec mechanics is a "griefer" or space-douche.

EDIT: In fact, the OP even mentions that scenario in his third post.
