Mass migration - against rules?

Now one of my alts is sitting in a small industry corp.
We got a war delared on us and those "pirates" are asking money from us to leave us alone.
I really see no problem with this.

What confuses me, is that people talk, that leaving corporation and going to an alt corporation all together is actualy a bannable offence.
Is this actualy true?
I really don't understand how harrasment over powerless people could be allowed, but a simple run away would be not.

No, it's not true.

You are free to do whatever you want with your character and corps, including leaving and disbanding them

For their part, they are free to re-dec your new corp, so it all evens out in the end.

Nope, that's fine.

I think CCP changed something about it though that makes it not quite so easy but I dunno because I don't care

Feel free to do as you please, it's not an exploit. However, chances of your new corp getting wardec'ed again are pretty likely when you start a new one.

there was a corp of 8 or so one and two month old characters who were war-deccing recently and offering "assistance" for a fee with another alt corp of equally skilled characters. Just because someone decc's you does not mean you are in mortal danger, do some scouting, look at their kill stats. If they are no menace you can either ignore them or drink an expresso, chase it with a beer, and go pop a couple of them. If they are actually effective you can move to a npc corp for the duration or hire one of the multiple merc corps that offer their services for just such situations. It sounds like your just caught up in an extortion racket where someone is trying to get you to pay them off with no real intenetion of fighting.

NPC corps are ~the best~. If you are mission running so or on where taxes are a problem, then use one-man altcorps. It's cheap to disband and recreate corps unless you're stuck with a POS, of course.

Except that disbanding > recreating corps is cheaper than decing each new corp (1.5m vs 50m) and you can do it in under a day*, so (I believe) you can keep refreshing your corp and never have any active wardec time.

I'm not entirely sure you can call that "even" since the Dec never lands, you don't lose your corp name (because you can re-use it after disbanding), and you're spending 1/30th of what they're spending to prosecute the war that never comes into effect.

*If people have roles, you do get a small amount of active wardec time on the first dec, equal to the time it takes you to notice you've been decced and drop everyone's roles.

Just so you know, you're only "powerless" if you decide that you are.

Make multiple corps, and bounce among them. It's perfectly acceptable......Lol

And rumors are flying about an end to that harassment...Shocked

Why not buy a POS scan out a WH and go on a two week holiday to the WH. The war dec will most likley get dropped like a hot coal when the aggressors can't find any targets. There's plenty of things you can do, leaving corp in my opinion should be the last thing you do.

This.
NPC corp is cool too, even with 11% tax. Many Player run Corporations after a certain number of player always have higher taxes+fees for several reasons (good or not up to their members to deal with).
When you put taxes and different fees all together, NPC 11% tax is ok for being wardec free, and you can even create your own circle of friends to play with, have TS and forum etc etc.
