I want to standardize on a way to set my courier prices to make things quicker. Here is what I came up with using prices posted in another forum post. The post stated that they make around $220K per jump with 900,000 M3.

$4.10 per M3, Per Jump

First is this a price you are wanting to get for things you are hauling....
Or a price you are wanting to set for things you are Sending

and also, with all things it depends on the size of the item, what the item is (colateral/trust in the trader), and WHERE it has to go/travel through

If you need to set a blanket number like that though look to red frog or black frog for their rates.

I am looking to set a price for hauling my product. 95% of it is consumer and industrial products.

On edit deleted entire old post. added math

My edit:
To clarify if you were sending 900k m3 then you would pay 3,690,000 per jump (for 12 jumps = 44,280,000)
for 125k m3 you would pay 512,500 per jump (for 12 jumps = 6,150,000)
for 4k m3 you would pay 16,400 per jump ( for 12 jumps = 196,800)

For everything it seems like your 4.10 is quite generous, except on the low end for the smaller amount. You need to set a minimum value of say half a million for small items to entice people to move them.

In the mid range your 4.10 value should ensure that your item gets moved but round that down to 5 million and I would think it would still get moved. as long as you were only taking up the 125k.

The very large order would be questionable even at that pay rate because it eliminates the ability to take any more orders at the same time so you would have to make it worth it to them to take such a large order, probably just need to break it up into smaller ones.

Hope that helps.

If it's highsec, look at Red Frog freight, and push industries.

Prices are per consignment, not per m3.

Just charge 500K per jump, or 500K per warp... it's competitive for High-Sec freighter runs.

You'll waste too much time haggling if you charge on the nature of the cargo -- at which point you won't make a profit worth the effort due to wasted time.

Fly safe.

A "per m^3" price only works if your contract will be shipped along a highly travelled route between hubs (so that the hauler can pick up several contracts until his freighter is full).

If the freighter will probably haul only your package (because the contract is to/from some remote location), then you should expect having to pay for the whole freighter cargo no matter how much of it you actually use.

The value of your package also makes a difference (if it exceeds 1-2b) as it determines the freighter pilot's risk of getting ganked

.

Thank you for Push Industries. Are there other companies like these two that offer online quoting?

I almost exclusively use services of freelancers from this channel. Usually people go around 300-500 for indie size and 500-1mill for freighter size. Some famous traders go even higher and doubling for quickies. :)

So here is the simple way of doing things:

- experiment

Make a price and see how long its takes for your stuff to move. If it is too fast lower the price and if it is too low increase it until you are satisfied with the result.

Simple....
